‘78 K5 Blazer- 38k miles and counting…

Literally all original driver that I will try my bestest to leave it alone and just enjoy it!
Nothing is safe from rust in Kansas. The holes in the floor were bad enough that the road noise was pretty terrible. Headed down to Texas in a week for C10’s in the Park again. I decided to do a decent, but quick patch job that will get me by for a while until I can properly fix these floors.

Cut a small patch panel to cover the holes. Wire wheeled the rust off then hit the bare metal with some rust converter. Once that dried I used panel bond and some weights to hold the patches down until they dried. I then did a nice even coat of undercoating for some extra sealing and sound deadening.

Again, not what I would call a permanent fix, but definitely should slow the rust down and buy me some time.
 
Next on the list was a very small attempt to erase the memory of me smacking a tree earlier on some trail adventures.

Got some paint to match rattle cans, new bedside trim, and did a little half-assed PDR on the bedside.

Again, not perfect but much better. Goodnuff until I break this truck down for a full body resto in a few years.

Started concrete for the shop so played upset the fruit basket with everything that has been parked on the gravel pad. Duramax got gooseneck duty so I tossed the boat behind the ‘78. Looks pretty cool doing some work. Might actually have to tow with it to the lake next summer.
