So here is the scene, I am under the JIMMY wrenching, the kids are playing fetch with KERKER, and WICK parked his truck up on the bank on the side of the trail.
The ranger came out and gave me a ticket for having my dog off the leash.
He gave me a verbal warning for rock crawling on the trail!
He said I was deteriorating the trail and was damaging the parks property!
He also gave Wick a warning for off roading off the road.

He was really concerned about the local sheep population.

I won't be back there anytime soon.

Got the bill for the ticket in the mail today.

Anybody want to guess how much? :deal:$$

Wrenchin'

I ordered new cab mounts. I decided not to go with the extra inch. I want to keep a low center of gravity.

I'm thinking about hitting the junkyard this weekend if anybody wants to go...

I could use a spare front D shaft. I still want to make some 1/2 doors too.

I wanna go to the junk yard!!! I want to find a th400 205 and adapter. Possibly a 203 ya know just junk stuff is it a half off?

Fun times:popcorn:

turns out i have to pay for a wedding lol so i won't be hitting the junkyard, if you happen to see any 205's i need a rear yoke i think that might be causing my breakage issue.

Ok, I think I'll go tomorrow morning. I've seen 205's just sitting there already removed before.

How much do you think your low dollar hydro-high steer set up would run me?
I know I can get a ram & hoses for about $120, but what about the rest?

i have some hose just get some fittings and i'll hook you up with the hose, i also have a flat top knuckle that i'll give you a good deal on, it just needs to be machined i think chicken said he can do them at the shop by him other wise my machine shop at work can do it.

these are the arms i have they work really well so you don't have to use a spacer or an extra long stud, i have all the part numbers for the moog TRE's about 20 bucks each i think from rock auto and the tube inserts, at the junk yard you'll need either a 2WD box or just the shaft from one and a pitman arm with about a 2" drop on i'm pretty sure mine is from an XJ, i have the tap for the steering box and the taper for the TRE, you need about 7-8' of 1.5 x .250 DOM or some 2" X .500 if your feeling frisky. i think thats it.

the arms are the most expensive obviously but those ones i feel really made the difference and i feel better with out the spacer.

I'm going to start working on that.

But for now, my new body mounts and rear engine mounts are here. I'm going to cut out a lot of Gnarly noises when i get these mounted.
By the looks of it, the cab will sit quite a bit higher too.

Something weird... I ordered OEM replacement parts...
- (HOLY CRAP A BIRD JUST FLEW INTO MY HOUSE & PAST MY HEAD WHILE I WAS TYPING THIS!)-

... and the rear engine mount has a sticker on it that says "made in India" when I turn the part over I see the paint peeling off and under the paint it says "USA".

WTH?

wow thats wierd, maybe it was before the 85% law that says that 85% must made in the country as opposed to the old 65%.

BTW what the hell is a rear engine mount? like a motor plate?

if you have a 1" or 1 1/4" tube die i have a really good idea for a ram mount but we would have to bend a little skid for it.

Hmmm... I don't know if I would use those mounts now or not dude. You can't tell where they're from and while you're typing about it a bird flies into your house and right by your head... Sounds like a sign to stay away from those mounts to me.

The rear engine mounts are installed on the tranny cross member. I always thought it was a tranny mount but the part name is 'rear engine mount'.

I have a 1.5" dye on the tube bender.

I usually pay attention to signs from nature. When I proposed to my bride to be I saw a stork standing on the shore line and took it as a good omen.

Once upon a time I was driving to work and was stopped at a redlight. I could see a falcon on a street lamp in front of me. Suddenly it swooped down and caught a seagull in flight and took it back up to the street lamp and feathered it and started eating it right in front of me. I don't know if that's a good or bad omen but I turned around and went back home.
I think I'll use the mounts as long as they fit properly. They have to be way better than the worn out ones I have on there now.

Yea I call em tranny mounts lol. But that's cool new mounts always make you feel better
