‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

Wow thanks for all the big ups!
Be sure to learn from my mistakes.

Im experimenting with a pixilated camo look. Can you see it?

Something like this but better.

I wish Mikey The Beast would come paint my junk.

Anybody have any thoughts or opinions?

Should I just keep the current grey primer camo or switch to desert tan?

Either way the spots will evolve with trail damage. They become more horizontal as the years go by.

1 vote for leave it. I guess that would be easy.

So far this is my favorite combo. It's desert khaki back with dark brown pixels.

I like the olive drab pixels too.

I've been collecting paint a few cans at a time when I go to the parts store. :D

If I don't paint my rig I'm gonna paint the Heep in the back yard.

Dang I'm torn.

I was planning to use 4 colors. Desert khaki base (sand), Dark brown (shadows), grey (rocks), and Olive drab (bushes)

I got the idea from Mntman210. It looked good when it was first done. When we ran into him in the desert he hardly had any paint left. His body is beat to sh!t.

I'll practice some more and try to come up with something simple.

Here's a pic I stole from Mtnman210's thread.

It didn't look like then when I saw it. :D

Thanks Joe, I miss those power weekends in the garage. Enjoy the swamps:flipoff13:

My new yoke should be less leaky and mo beefy!

For the record I need to use conversion joint NAPA part# 447

Yes sir, it's a khaki base, pixel brown low, pixel olive drab high, a little more khaki, and finished with diagonal pixel black.

This is a photo of the mountains in JAMUL taken from the calendar shot.

Notice the mountains on the lower are brown, the mountains above are OD, and khaki everywhere in between.

I'm still going to try other desert scenes before the big decision. The terrain changes so much there could be several different "desert camo" patterns.
