‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

Ok, he's got a 10b and 14ff, 3.73s, need new seals. He wants a reasonable offer, he's close enough that I can swing by and get some pics if needed.

Not yet but thanks, I'm tapped out on funds and not too sure about work in the near future. I have to keep what I have for now.
I really appreciate that information, Thanks again.:waytogo:

Awesome vids bro! I'm sure I have to squeeze between trees that are that tight all the time, but it doesn't look nearly as dramatic as two rock walls! Everything out there just looks so clean and open. No bugs or mud anywhere around, just a little dust. No shade either though. It just looks so totally different than what I'm used to that it looks like another planet.

How fast were you going in the last video? Looked like about 70.

I wasn't looking at how fast I was going. I had it floored. I was looking about 100 yrds ahead of me.
Sometime when it rains out there the washes flash flood. It's crazy, a wall of water comes rushing down the wash and will take cars along with it! I have only seen it happen once. That's when there is mud out there.
The dust can get ridiculous; the wind starts blowing when the sun sets and the temps have dramatic changes. You get sandblasted and sand get in your beer!
This place used to be the bottom of the ocean. You can find sea shells & fossils on the trail. In the videos you can see the water elevation lines on the walls. It is like a whole different planet, even the plant life looks like it should be at the bottom of the ocean.
I love it out here.

Cool. I guess the flash floods happen because there's only sand out there and no place for the water to drain to and nothing to soak it up, like trees or anything. The same thing happens in Texas. I just like how there's no development out there. It's like you have the place all to yourself. I know it gets crowded sometimes though. People complain about the BLM and all, but on the east coast, there's no such thing as public land. It would be hard to come across a huge unpopulated area like that and have it open to vehicles. In fact, there is no such thing around here. Keep on enjoying it and the rest of us will wheel vicariously through you. :D

We'll meet up out there one day.
My next trail run is going to be at Corral Canyon OHV. I'm trying to round up some CK5er's to hit Bronco Peak trail. There is no set date yet; I am trying to coordinate with you guys to see who wants to go.

-Anybody want to go hit this trail on Memorial weekend?-

-...anyone?

JIMMY 156.jpg I installed the new axle shaft and shaved the bottom of my diff. I also cleaned up the axle tubes with a wire wheel and painted them black.

JIMMY 157.jpg I replaced my broken window with Lexar. It's supposed to be 20x's stronger than glass. Basically its a $12 piece of plexi glass. I broke the other side before and used it.I plan to go back to the same trails so why bother breaking glass again?

JIMMY 158.jpg I bent & installed my tank armor. I used a piece of 10 gauge steel plate I got from work. I plan to switch to aluminum when I get some loot.

JIMMY 159.jpg I used grade 8 hardware. I welded the nuts to the tabs since I can't get my hand & a wrench in there.

That's about it for now. I have some other things to fix too. I'll keep you all posted.
