‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

Don't you even sleep!!

You are a Machine!!
Why you would even think to put the cage off till "later" when you get things done this fast is beyond me....:waytogo:

Well, I got the windshield in but I can't get the locking strip in. I guess I need to buy a special tool for it.

Not willing to quit I found my tools of choice are the screen door roller and funny looking interior trim tool with some soapy water.

I'm about 1/2 way. This isn't easy.

I HATE those rollers. I can't tell you how many times I punched my hand through the screen I JUST PUT IN trying to use those stupid things...

On a side note, I like the patch work :D glad to see you were able to put the windshield in without any major problems

Why not wait till you run the cage Paul??! If you gotta do it all over again I'd take the windshield off and run the front bars before putting it in. Would really make it easier I think for fitting of tubes.

Who says I HAVE to take out my windshield to build a cage?

The reason I don't wait is because this is a 'must be running at all times rig' and this is a build bash build rig.

I don't have the loot to buy a 1.75" dye for the JD2 and I don't want to build a cage with 1.50" tubing.

If I can't afford the dye, I certainly can't afford 100+ ft of 1.75 DOM tubing...

That's the same reason I'm still rolling on 10 bolts. Sure I could go down to the junkyard and buy a 14 bolt for cheep but then I need new tires and wheels, new lockers and so on.

It's a financial thing. I have no money so I use what I've got and make the most of it.

I didn't know when u planned on doing it, I just thought if soon it would be nice to have out for mockup and such. I know you can without it.

You teaser pic kinda fooled me into thinking u were starting now.

I was just clownin around with the teaser pic.:D

As for the windshield. It needs a sticker. What do you guys think?

Traditional, custom, or naked? :dunno:

Damn fine truck!!

You do a great job on your rig regardless..:waytogo:

I know people that do have the coin, but won't invest the time or energy to do what I have seen you do.

Sorry if it seemed like I was pressuring you for cage work....
I couldn't have done my cage with the glass in, and thought now would be the most convenient for you.

Very impressed with your work!!!

Thanks KJ,

No pressure, I know I need a cage. I know now more than ever that I need one...

Fuk dat! Paul, I love your truck! I love that its got 10 bolts and it gets wheeled more than most other rigs on the forum! I love that its built with "recycled" parts! Your truck optimizes the spirit of CK5. :waytogo:
