‘83 C10 4spd Scottsdale-Gone but not forgotten. New replacement loading...

Mild restoration build to use as a truck should be used.
Can't beat a basically free truck. No matter what it is.

That's for sure. I have taken every free vehicle that has ever been offered to me. Which oddly enough has been quite alot, from squarebodys, to a diesel Oldsmobile, and even a fox body mustang.
I don't turn them down either. They are sent to me for a reason. The last one paved the way for me to own a 67-72 truck. Which I should have never sold, but I'm glad I owned.
Did it have damaged quarters from cars and coffee the day before?
I lol'd.

Went by and saw the turd in person tonight. It’s still crazy muddy, so the truck is staying put until it dries out a little more. Peaked under the crusty truck to see it has a 12 bolt rear. Then lifted the crusty hood to see that it does have an engine, which is nice. Any idea what that weird thing is on the drivers wheel well? It appears to come from the side of the block under the manifold. Never seen that before.

Going to break the vin down tomorrow and see what else this truck has.

Oh, cab floors are solid just need cleaned of and resealed maybe. And the bed floor is solid too. Going to need fenders, doors and bedsides. But the rest is good haha.

Can anyone verify that the rear axle is a 12 bolt? I don't show a 12 bolt as a 2wd option for this truck.

12 bolts were all used up by 1980.
83 should be a 10 bolt so if it has a 12 it's been swapped

My '85 K10 diesel burb has a 12 bolt that looks original in it..
I know supposedly GM dropped the 12 bolt somewhere around 1980-81,but I have seen a few in later model trucks that were never molested from the factory..I think they used up whatever they had lying around when they built the trucks..
