‘83 C10 4spd Scottsdale-Gone but not forgotten. New replacement loading...

Mild restoration build to use as a truck should be used.
Found something out today. The rear 12 bolt is actually a 6 lug, which is why the truck has rallies on the rear only (never thought to look when I was there last). So after some digging at my dads house, and scanning my parts supply, I have found that I have enough parts to make this truck 4wd.

  • Front spring hanger brackets from a “52 swap kit” I bought from Jekbrown last year. Also came with the FUSH kit and shackles.
  • A set of almost new springs left over from my SAS on the diesel (will have to remove a few springs).
  • A few different t-cases to pick from.
  • 2 front axles. One with 4:56 gears, the other with 3:73 gears (need to see what the 12 bolt rear has).
  • A couple front drive shafts to pick from.
The only thing I will need is a new 2wd gear box and x-over steering, or may use my 4wd box and factory steering. Also would need a 4x4 shifter. Any thing else I am missing?

No you should just make the warden 4wd and leave this one alone. And then fix the Harley truck so you can have a “shop” truck for 2wd stuffs

This is the itinerary.

  1. Get the truck home. Lol
  2. Replace one of the leaking gas tanks.
  3. Clean interior and replace nasty bench seat.
  4. Newer tires and steel wheels for hub caps on the rear (that way with caps on the wheels/tires will match).
  5. Make sure the truck is reliable and trustworthy/roadworthy.
  6. Then the truck will be a backup for the Harley truck while the The Warden is down for the 4wd swap.
  7. Once the Warden is back on the road, sheet metal will start to get replaced and the beautification process will start.
  8. Any custom modifications would start ie: lowering it or making in 4wd. But this is honestly a year or so away to give me time to really see what I want/need.
Yesterday as my brother and I were dreaming, I realized how messed up that would be if I did all the 4wd swap on this and didn’t even touch the crew cab. So I knew that the Warden was going to get finished up before I really dug into the Cheezy Poof.
