‘90 Suburban Denver

Rescued from Colorado.
Got the tilt column swapped in. Everything went smooth but I did learn a bit. When I had both columns on the bench, I looked at the ignition and dimmer switches to make sure they looked right and the ignition caught me eye. Not sure if it’s because tilt vs non-tilt or a ‘90 and newer thing, but the ignition switch is flipped basically so the wiring plugs have to be rotated 180 degrees. On the original non-tilt column, the rod that actuates the switch goes the same direction as the key. (Forward to on and crank). The tilt column rod is like I am used to. ( rod pulls rearward as key goes forward).

Anyway, evertyhing works great and it’s so nice not to hit my legs on the wheel getting in and out!

I found the same thing in a '78.
Took a little messing around to get the harness to be ok with getting flipped.

You are correct in that GM flipped the ignition switch between non-tilt and tilt columns.
Right on. I guess i’ve never had a non-tilt apart before. Definitly caught me offgaurd
