‘90 Suburban Denver

Rescued from Colorado.
Picked up some new speakers to replace the dried out old ones. Factory stereo is getting refurbished by a guy in Texas. Should have that back in a few weeks.
Are you sure the tweeters won't hit the dash pad? The design of that mounting system relies on having foam around the outside of the speaker that seals against the bottom of the dash pad. Otherwise, the speaker basically has no enclosure or separation.

that would be the clutch. My 6.2 knowledge is nil. So idk which the fan turns or if they change direction with different years. Does the blade fit a gas engine fan clutch

I just went out and measured. The only difference (measuring quick and not accurately) appears to be the center pin for the clutch. The clutch to fan bolt pattern appears to be the same between 5-blade 6.2L diesel and 7-blade 350 V8 gas. The bolt pattern on the clutch to water pump flange appears to be the same as well. All of these are v-belt systems with the same rotation. 6.5L serpentine would reverse rotation.

You’ll snap the crank with 6.2 parts! :D
The eBay listing said it was off a 96-2000
7.4L vortec. Probably same part though!

Here’s a pic of the one on the shortbed 454.
It bolted right up to the clutch. And yes reverse rotation for serpentine setup.

I don’t expect them to hit. They measured same height as stock. I did the same thing on my other truck, and yeah it works but the sound probably isn’t audiophile quality. But hey, it’s something to listen to!

Many of us have sub audiophile ears. My Chinese hearing aids don't have that kind of frequency response.

It feels like a time warp. What could be fancier than auto-reverse cassette and 5-band EQ?
I know right? And everything works great now. Even found a brand new Metallica tape on Amazon for 7 bucks to test it out.
I’m really impressed with the range on the eq.

Looks like it can seek tracks, too. Don't forget AM stereo. That shocked me the first time I saw "ST" light up on a car stereo on the AM band. :eek1:
Do you push the tune knob in to switch between AM and FM? It's like trying to remember how to rotary-dial international calls.

Yeah, I am amazed how well the am reception is on this thing. Comes in crystal clear. Yes, you push the bottom knob in to toggle between and the upper one toggles between the station and clock.
