Finally got a warmer night in the shop, got the pedals in, was as frustrating as I remember… got the wrong slave cylinder, going to see if oreilley has the right one. Was there different slaves for the 465 or did I somehow end up with the wrong one? Ordered one for an 85 k10 I think, but im not sure exactly what year my trans came from. The slave I received has the studs close to an inch too far apart for the bolt holes in the bellhousing. If I remember right it almost looks like the one off my old nv3500… anyways Ill find one

Since I’ve swaped to a carb ive gotten rid of a bit of wiring under the hood, id love to get rid of all the useless crap from under the dash too, anyone know off the top what these 2 parts are that were mounted to the pedal assemblyIMG_5112.jpegIMG_5111.jpeg
Id like to get rid of any unnecessary stuff to make it easier to work on. Theres also an aftermarket key fob cluster under the dash that needs to go. At this point it might be easier to just gut the dash and rewire the wipers, lights, and ignition switch and call it there but that’s not very inviting to me, id rather pull the trans 5 more times than work under the dash…

With any luck I might be driving it tomorrow…… probably not at my rate of progress

Kinda thinking it's these two items. Not 100% sure though. Second pic is the audio alarm/buzzer. First pic is the convenience center. Round thing is definitely a flasher.

She moves, took it for a test drive yesterday, the 465 dosent shift as slow as I was assuming it would, I was sorta expecting some awful slow shifts but it just feels like a truck trans. Not as fast as the mazda transmissions in all of my 4 banger rangers but not bad, my only complaint with it is the shifter is awful short, im 6’ and usually put my seat on cruise control to the back seat so im leaning to shift. Might have to lay the fire to it and move it around.

My 465 looked good inside and felt great turning it prior to installing it but it seems to have a pretty good bearing whine, im assuming input bearing. Kinda annoying but ill ignore it for now, my nv3500 had a bearing whine for the entire 30k on put on it, im willing to bet the 465 will whine pretty much forever as long as I keep oil in it….. speaking of which I tried to defy the odds and make mine not leak….. I failed…. I must’ve warped one of the pto covers peeling it off of the rock hard gaskets and its dripping already, thinking about ordering something billet aluminum covers to hopefully keep that to a minimum.

So far the luk clutch feels good, not as stiff as I remember my 12” oreilley clutch being in my last swap.

The carb tuning isn’t very good at all right now, didn’t notice it as bad with the 1.5 speed 700r4 but it falls on its face getting back in it after shifting, ive got a jet and meetering rod kit to throw at it on my next set of days off… fingers crossed I only have to do it once or twice.

I’ve only got 20 miles or so on it and its amazing how nice it is to have a reliable connection from the crank to the tires….

Im gonna have some fun playing with that 6.5:1 low gear, my rear driveline isn’t looking forward to it. The sf14 should be ok, Ive got a 70”ff 14 waiting if it isn’t, just need to convert it to 6 lug, I don’t want to loose my rally wheels

Congrats dude! Major step in the process complete.

Is the 465 shifter a stock part? I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody call one short. I will admit the throw to third can get your hand up close and personal with the dash to if you are moving quickly.

Appears to be stock, its not necessarily short, but too far away if that makes sense, height seems good, it does get awful close to the dash, but i have to sorta lean towards it to get low and 3rd, I probably just need to heat it and bend it away from the dash and that will probably take care of it for me, its probably just how I sit in it, my legs pretty much straight with the clutch in and im pretty sure the seats slid all the way back, if not real close to it, but yeah so far im happy with how its coming along, hopefully in the coming weeks I can get it ironed out and maybe finally get to the camper side of this thing. Ive got several trips planned that the camper would sure be nice for.

The shifters weren't all the same angle, I have 3 iterations from different trucks, and that's not counting the van where it's bent forward to reach the driver.
The one that was leaning back the most I got from a 1972 c20
