“Dylan’s” 89. Back at it!

I argue the other way.

IR lets you check anywhere throughout the system which is good for finding potential problems clogs in heater cores or radiators. You do have to be careful because certain surfaces will give a false reading. Painted things, rubber, polished things and more can throw a false reading.

Plus they are useful for so many other things.
Except your not arguing with me. That’s what I was trying to say they are good at.

I missed a bunch of posts in there. Started responding, got distracted and then finished my thought...

Hey @Abusfullofnuns are you using the temp sensor that came with the Dakota digital gauges? Or is the gauge ran through the ECM/OBD II?

My gauges are ran through the OBD II but using the sensor that came with the gauges. Im wondering if they’re calibrated differently.

I only ran the oil pressure and speedo senders. I'm using the ecm for everything else. I've verified that hptuner is seeing the same temps as torquepro does through the ecm. Prior to the DD install, I also never noticed a discrepancy between torquepro and my aftermarket gauge(that is now trashed).

I went ahead and ordered a stock sender. I may try to run a mechanical gauge in the passenger side. I think the driver side port is m12x1.5

Any thing wrong with trying to run the AC even though it’s not charged at all? I want to run it and see if the fans come on with the AC like they’re supposed to. Compressor has oil in it. The clutch engages when I turn the heat on. Haven’t tried with AC.

Oooh we might have a winner here!

Was playing around yesterday trying to check an Ohm reading on the current sensor and wasn’t able to really get anything. But I would turn the ignition on and the gauges would jump right to 140. Just swapped in a new sensor and the gauge didn’t budge. :saweet:

Gotta swap in another master cylinder bc this new one leaks :surepal: . Went with an ACdelco part this time vs Cardone

It’s hotter than Thors asshole after Mexican night out here! But this baby is running as cool as a cucumber. Fans kicked in as they should at 195 and 200 then the temp didn’t budge past there!

New gigantic 3500 MC bled with no problems! New Duralast 78AGM in there. Time to take a spin around the hood!

Going to get a tag and some insurance tomorrow. Look out now!

Nice. As easy as it is to keep mine cool, I knew something strange was going on.

Did you take it for a long test drive? How'd it do?

Just a short one in the neighborhood, wanted to check for leaks since it’s the first time it’s been up to temp for a period of time. Need to do a quick alignment today and I may take it out this evening.

Also had a weird little issue with the trans. Every now and then when I would shift into Park there would be a real quick sharp “grind” noise. Then yesterday I was trying to crawl my steep driveway and it would not go into neutral. Linkage would move but the trans would not shift. Turned it off, put it in park, started it back up and all was fine.

Didn’t check to see if linkage was loose or anything so who know. Waiting in my trans guy to call back just to see what this is all about. Always something.

I do know that the linkage does hit the exhaust a tiny bit so I may go bang some clearance into it today.

I know have to change my standard response to; "Shoulda gone with the big block" + "with a 4 spd".

j/k you know I had to :D
