Except your not arguing with me. That’s what I was trying to say they are good at.I argue the other way.
IR lets you check anywhere throughout the system which is good for finding potential problems clogs in heater cores or radiators. You do have to be careful because certain surfaces will give a false reading. Painted things, rubber, polished things and more can throw a false reading.
Plus they are useful for so many other things.
Yeah. I haven’t used one personally, and don’t know if I would keep it on permanently but it could give another reference.
Hey @Abusfullofnuns are you using the temp sensor that came with the Dakota digital gauges? Or is the gauge ran through the ECM/OBD II?
My gauges are ran through the OBD II but using the sensor that came with the gauges. Im wondering if they’re calibrated differently.
I only ran the oil pressure and speedo senders. I'm using the ecm for everything else. I've verified that hptuner is seeing the same temps as torquepro does through the ecm. Prior to the DD install, I also never noticed a discrepancy between torquepro and my aftermarket gauge(that is now trashed).
. Went with an ACdelco part this time vs Cardone
