03 1500, Sold it.

I have had so many issues with the masterpro and the like pumps. And the delphi is lifetime warranty where the others at $230 are one year.

Trying to convince myself it is worth doing. If it wasn't howling, I wouldn't bother.

It should be a snap installing it now. It won't be a snap installing it later. The only reason to not do it now is if you think the current unit won't fail. Your guess is as good as mine in that regard. :dunno:

I know the price sucks, but if you want to do it again soon, better out an access panel in the floor to make it easier.

I'll put it this way, I won't sell a non-oem pump for the fact that I don't want to deal with some pissed of customer when the pump fails in 6 months. Once you factor most part store brand pumps won't pay for labor (which isn't an issue for you other than time) paying to have another one installed a second time usually covers the difference between the two.

I learned this lesson myself on a grand Prix I had. Two Murray's (Detroit) part store brand pumps in six months and then the guy I sold it to had to do it again a year later.

where are you buying it from that it cost 330?
the most expensive Delphi pump on rockauto is 226.

other good brands, denso, bosch, ac delco, etc, start at 140..... normally I don't care but 330? holy crap.

My cost will be less once I talk to the jobber counter guy. Called the other suppliers and they wrre Wednesday. I need it tomorrow.

I went cheap on the first fuel pump in my 02, came back and bit me in the ass after 5k miles. Ended up buying an AC Delco at the local Napa for $340 and it's been fine for the last 80k miles or so.

Since we're on the OEM vs parts store rant. I Just bought a 92 F250 with a 460 to fix and flip. I pulled the factory pump out and got a parts store replacement with lifetime warranty. Truck can't really be sold due to it being junk some 75 miles later :angry1:. All my GM stuff gets GM parts in places that matter anymore....

I leave Tuesday of next week.

My pump has the evaporator sensor in it. $70 more no matter what. My cheap truck may become pricey.
