Great answers everyone. Thank you. Wow, now I've got the fear of god in me for breaking my wrist or something when drilling! I'll make sure I find one with a side grip as well. Sounds like that's a must.
One of the comments here stands out and this is exactly why I want nothing to do with a battery operated one.
What a waste to have a tool that lasts only as long as the life of the battery, since the damn replacement batteries typically exceed the cost of the freaking tool from my experience! BUT... If there's drills out there these days with battery lifetime warranty I stand corrected. Just didn't know those existed.
Still, I like the idea of handing this drill down to my kid someday (got to actually HAVE one of them first though
) and the tool still works great. No battery will last that long.
I worry about the life of the battery especially since I will probably barely ever use this drill but when I do I want one of big enough size!
I have a friend that sells industrial tools on ebay and he's got a bunch of Milwaukee 1/2"ers. Sounds like Ill be contacting him!

If you go with the cordless Rigid brand at Home Depot, check it right away for wobble. I think they all have a lifetime warranty on their batteries now. I have a drawer full of great drills, with batteries that are shot from years back.
