yes it will friend has his gov bomb in his front after he got gears now it has 14 bolt and detroit and gov bomb up front

Yes , and its the same carrier from highway gears to low gears .

I don't think a TrueTrac can swap from front to rear...but I'm not sure.

Correct. There are different part numbers for the TrueTrac, depending on whether it is for the front or the rear.Triaged said:

Yes, carriers are the same. But there are 28sp. and 30sp. side gears. They interchange between carriers too.
I've been told that it only works when putting 28 spline spiders into a 30 spline carrier. Supposedly the hole in the 28 spline carrier is too small for a 30 spline axle to fit through.readymix said:

That's correct, which is also what makes the 30 spline carriers marginally weaker than the 28 spline counterparts.

I have 30 spline front spares , and a 28 spline carrier on the bench . I should verify this sometime . but time is hard to come by after work !
they will swap front to back and vice versa.

I have carriers up, the wazooo , I just need to experiment and see if the 30 spline seven slide through the 28

its been a while since ive been in a 10 bolt, let along have the carrier out, but it seems that the hole that the axle goes in is huge and the side gears are what fill this hole in. according to everything that i have found, the major diameter of the shaft is the same, just 2 more splines.
