lol lost another tonight. had a lot of fun though, dont even know when i toasted this one. sure was makin a lotta racket though.

Maybe it was the possesed twig that went into your U joint??? LOL

Looks to be normal carnage from our 1/2 ton junk. My buddy ripped his carrier in half before he broke an axle shaft??? Go figure. At least that is an easy fix:)

That has always been my downfall. I always break the carrier on a 10 bolt.:doah:
 
lol dang i haven't seen any busted carriers yet! this one looks like one of the ears let go, my last one the joint popped.


ill work on the carrier bust for you guys though.:D

DId any of you guys go up the steep climbs by the pond? What about the rock lined drains? Hit any crazy stuff or did everyone just take it easy after you broke?

How the heck did you break an open carrier? You don't wear 'deep sea diver's boots' when driving do ya?:D

nah thats gonna be the next trip out, we did a little of the rock drains. im def gonna try those climbs by the pond. much hopping will ensue im sure.

we were pretty much ready to go when i noticed i had blown that shaft, i got the replacement shaft sittin in pb next to a new ujoint at the moment. when i get around to doing it... i do not know.
 
I cracked my 10 bolt carrier in half along with the spider gears 2 weeks ago while heavy footing up hills. 36's + Vortec 350 + dry mud + heavy foot + ****ty 10 bolt = NO GOOD. Picked up a truetrac for $395 the other day and after looking into it decieded it's not something I ought to take a chance on me doing it right. Don't have the right tools for this job. Took the whole axle off yesterday and brought it to a performance shop today... $235 to put it together for me.... What an expensive trip. Oh, plus the $160 tow on a flat bed when it broke... That's what....um.... almost $800, ouch. Hopefully I'll be better off in the end... We'll see how this truetrac holds up...I've gotten mixed opinions but it's gotta be stronger then that flimsy stock carrier. While dropping $800 I might as well have just gotten a real locker.... Wife is MAD that I've spent this much already. Along with all the other **** I've done to it in the 2 months I've owned it it's getting close to $3000 all together... payed $3000 for it.... I think I'm too rough on it or something.... better tone it down! I'll stop talking now
 
Hears a pic of my buddys broken 44 parts from last weekend. We swapped all this out sunday morning after busting it saturday, swapped some other used junk in, welded the spiders and ran the piss out of it all day untill he snapped a stub sunday night.
