A buddy of mine just swapped his front d44 for a d60, for a 100 bucks its mine with the brakes and everything...havent seen it yet so condition unknown. He says pretty good...now is this a good buy, Im currently running stock 10Bolt and I dont think this would be an upgrade they are pretty much the same arnt they?? I was thinking I might be able to use some parts off it tho, or maybe even the front brakes for a rear disc conversion...is any of this possible or should I pass on the rather large yard orniment it might become??

that I never even thought of...I think its 6 but not sure the truck it came out of is a longbed 1/2 ton did those use 8 bolt?

Nope....1/2 tons were 6-lug. If you already have a 10 bolt, then there is really no reason to need it. Unless you need to switch gear ratios to match the rear or something. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Check out the axle, if it is a 3.73 or 4.10 ratio OR if it is an 8 lug axle $100 is a great deal. If your friend just upgraded to a Dana 60 maybe he upgraded to 3/4 ton the last time? There are a few guys looking for 8 lug front axles if you decide not to buy it though so let us know /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
