17 Ram 3500 DD minor upgrades

The truck would not reconize the key yesterday morning. Battery was at 12.5v. Tried jumping to check. No change. Drove the ReTonkukous. Checked when I came home for lunch. No dice.

Got home at about 3:30. Wind howling and 21* out, so I figured I would workin the garage on the truck. Fired right up.

Started this morning with no issues.

That is the second time a post has posted twice. First time gives an "Oops, something went wrong" error. So I post again and both are there.

I noticed this earlier

Do you have any other transponder keys on your key ring? Toyota had a TSB about multiple transponder keys close to one another causing issues, the fix was to remove the extras or use a key ring that moved them further apart.

No. Everything is separate. I hate bulky keys.

I have been noticing that it starts after the Temps get over 35* or so.
It would not start this morning at 16* in the garage. I put a small heater on the driver's seat. Fired up after about 30 minutes.

It would not recognize the key at all. Put the heater in the cab, tried after 15 minutes. Recognized the key but would not activate the ECU/BCM. Went to breakfast. Started no problem when I got back.

Put a new fully charged, yes I charged it on the bench, battery in. No change.

Cumminsforum.com is a good place for Dodge tech, you might search there.

It'll have to act up while it's connected to a scan tool to see if it's a transponder system problem.
