Gonna get a spot weld cutter, pull the tool box, and start patching the floor. Anyone wanna donate some street signs to the cause?

Autopsy of the engine in progress. Not too good....

Valves are hung in the guides and pistons hung in the cylinders.

Oil pump and distributor spin, but need opened up and inspected.

I've gotta pull the cam gears and the crank. Maybe I can save the rods if the pistons will shatter so I can get them out.

Before you get to shattering the pistons, keep trying to break em free. That engine could be made to run IMO, and probably without a full dis-assemble.

This kid is an inspiration when it comes to old F'ed up engines that start out seized.

Doubtful....

That might not buff out...:haha:
Yeah, it's a waste. I'm just trying to save what I can for spares and learn how these little L134s are put together.

Although, if I can get the valves out, I'm going to play with porting this old block and be ready to squeeze a little more flow out of the next one.

That block could probably be sleeved...
They're not rare enough to be cost effective and the corrosion on the inside would require a lot of extra machining. Plus most likely new valve guides.

I can get a whole jeep for $800 with a spare transmission and t-case and a nice hard top.

Know what would fit really well in that engine bay?
Was going to say rotary but a quick search and it’s been done. A baby 2.8 Cummins haha

VW 1.9L diesel
I really want simple with this thing. Would prefer mechanical diesel.

And there's no commercially available adapters for that engine to the T90. That adds considerably to the expense.

company called Subaru Gears will make any adapter, if you wanted to go that way.
