Mr.Clean submitted a new Build:

1968 c30 "Papa Smurf" prerunner build. links, beams, and turbo

Well I'm finally getting a build together for this truck. I have some what been keeping this truck hidden up until now. Pretty much all the plans i had for my blazer Oprah i have changed to doing to this c30 i picked up. Main reasons I wanted a roof, doors, heat, and other amenities like that for a prerunner. Also trying to tackle a back half on a blazer looked like a much more daunting task than tackling on on a pick up. Now before to many questions i do have new plans for Oprah which i will update in that thread. This thread is for the c30 so lets try to keep it about the truck.

Basic plans are 4.8 ls with a 76 mm turbo. A but TH400 trans, linked 9" rear end, full cage, back half, fiberglass fenders and eventually bedsides, front suspension I am letting my buddy Neal who owns Griffen Fab works build a set of beams for it. Shocks will be 2.5" king coil overs paired with 3.0" king bypasses, and then I will be using my 2.0" profender bumps that i already have.

These pics are somewhat in order some aren't but after this post from here on out I will keep this updated so things are in order.

Nice, you've been busy you little secret squirrel you, hiding a build from us
Yah haha. Well I had my vision of what I wanted this truck to be and I didnt want to post anything about it until it was clear just by looking at pictures what that vision was. This weekend i Stood back in my garage and could not stop starring at it. Figured its pretty clear what the truck is how it sits now.

Good work dude. Looks awesome. This is cool cause your clean slate on this. No one has pre built this truck, so this is all you!

I'm just surprised someone makes fiberglass fenders lol

nice work! Don't like putting two spares in? Or at least vertical?
man I like the old 67-72 prerunner idea!

yah well only one company makes them so I'm limited on 3" bulge. I wanted more, but I don't want to make them so 3" is what I got haha

I will have 2 full size spares on it. One how it is in the pics and then one hanging off the back protecting the fuel cell area. Just need to built a holder for that tire yet. Main reason for 2 full size spares is because at some point I want to get some 37" scat track 10 lug paddles made for this thing so then I can carry paddles on the back and when paddles are on the truck have a spot for the bfg's to go.

With a prerunner, is it beneficial to move the tires up against the cab? Just trying to get the weight between the F/R? Or do they just tend to run them above or behind the rear axle?
