Picked up 4 new to me used 37”x12.5” mtr’s 30-40% tread no weather checking or dry rot for $100. Better then the 15% tread and weatherchecked bfg’s I was running. Mtr’s stand 1” taller then the bfg’s so I’ll need to cycle and recheck all of my clearences.

I like nylock nuts for all the suspension bolts, they even make thin nylocks (like a jam nut) if you need the clearance there.
That was my issue. No clearance so it got a regular nut. All other suspension and shock bolts are lock nuts. I’ve never had the issue before. I had just reassembled the rear setup and just never did a bolt check after 3 trips on the new setup... mistakes happen when you get comfortable.

We’ve mixed and matched the nylock nuts, like you I’ve been pretty lucky.. I think it’s similar to the fine/coarse thread debate.. my truck has some areas I cannot fit a lock washer so I just torque them every trip.. but it would be nice to know they can’t come loose..
I need to find me a tire guy like yours.. I still don’t have a solid spare..

Last silver lake dune trip of the year this weekend. Going to test a few changes and keep it easy on the truck. After this weekend start prep again to get the truck ready to head west at the end of November.

Couple pics from the last trip out. Found an Awesome jump that my wife made me hit about 30 times in a row. Most fun I’ve ever seen her have in the truck. I didn’t mind at all. Gonna start prepping to go west in the a.m.

In that first pic with the rear axle fully stuffed and the spares out back it almost looks like you blasted the rear axle through the bed. Lol
