Slow process of putting it back together.
Oh and I had a panicked moment today. While feeding the kickdown cable up my hand somehow, got stuck between the frame and inner fender. I could not get it out and panicked a bit. But I was able to squeeze my hand out but not without a bit of a swollen hand and a minor cut.

stupid move on my part the kickdown was linked from the packaging, that it kept twisting and while trying to get it to go straight to screw into the transmission.. hahahaha my damn hand got stuck.

pictures don't really do it justice...
Bonehead move...

Just swollen and red. I was thinking to to get my wife to dump some oil on, but it didn't get that far.

Good job there Stuckey!
:haha:

Good thing that you got your hand out without a deeper cut, the sheetmetal is usually what gets me.

On the throttle return springs, they supply two for redundancy if one were to break. But, yeah, that can end up too stiff. I always check full throttle tension and decide if some different bracket is needed to keep from over-stretching the spring or lowering tension.

Is this radiator bracket placement ok? I cannot for the life of me, even after soaking cannot get that screw out...

And for the top?
When fully tightened down the radiator just flops. Is there an alternative hood down I can use?

That won't work. The driver side will collapse the lower flange piece into the tubes.
Can you move it towards the passenger side and put the tank/header panel into the rubber? Then the top clamp may move over to be on top of the tank as well.

Ok,
It holds it better but there is still a bit of play. I can rock it back and forth but it doesn't fall forward. Maybe and inch or so of rocking.
Can I just double up the rubber under the bracket?

Not sure if video will upload
What if I bend the brackets to face down a bit more?

I doubled the rubber, had to even after trying to bend the hold downs it still had too much slop for my liking.
Again, hopefully the video will play

I'm anxious to put the hood on.... I should wait until under the hood is more finished. But I want to see the look... hahahah

Maybe I can coax my wife to help?
she got freaked out when my hand got stuck. Hahahah. She was like "I'm calling the fire department or 911" hahaha. Thankfully I got it out.

I haven't looked at the videos, but my experience with these says that you probably could use the top brackets for the standard radiator, as it looks like you have the ones to fit the 4 row, or heavy duty radiator. Hard to tell exactly without checking dimensions.
You are correct that you want to limit movement. Do whatever it takes in the short term, get it running and then watch for a solution that you like. With some work, you should be able to get things to fit nicely. My aluminum radiator in my '70 took some massaging of the mounts and brackets to keep from having the tanks get touched by the steel.

I definitely would set the hood on, even if it had to come back off. It will help check the alignment of the front clip.
(And give you the fun of seeing it!!)

My thoughts exactly...

If you can wait a couple of days I should be around. Spent the day getting the tow behind ready, so I'll have some wheels when I get down to Phoenix. Looking like we might be down a day earlier too.

Edit I got it to the back of the block... I forgot I can just check my blazer...hahahaha
