Slow process of putting it back together.
Ok I found the c clips. I knew I had them.

I believe that those little holes about and below the headlights were originally rivets. I went to True Value and bought stainless button head machine screws with nylock nuts. Or maybe they were chrome, can't remember.
They also had a decent assortment of J nuts for the headlight bezel screws.

It's from the driver's seat for reference

what size is that ? Harbor freight will have an assortment might be a slightly different style

..
Does anyone have front bumper brackets to sell? One was bent but it wasn't really as noticeable until the front was back together.

Here is the current gauge cluster. I'm think at minimum the printed circuit should be changed. Also,

what was in the circles holes? Owner mod or was something there stock?

Is the bezel good enough as is or aftermarket replacement? I think it look fine, more vintage as is.. hahah

Also, I wasn't aware you could massage the core support to help with gaps. I'm having a weird one with the front bumper. The horns seem fine I measured them. But I didn't pay too much attention to alignment when tightening down the front bumper giving me, the passenger side tucked close the front while the driver sides gap is good.

the brackets look correct?

The extra holes in the cluster bezel aren't factory.
The printed circuit looks to be in pretty good shape, I don't see any burned or broken spots, after a quick glance.

The bumper alignment can be a trick in my experience. I don't have much help, except to loosen things and push here and there to find what makes things go your way.

that printed circus looks good to me, why do want to replace it ?

Also been discussing my coming down to help with the war dept, and it looks like I can't get down to help till 2 week of Jan

Ok,
Maybe you or anyone of the two people reading this thread remember or know this. But it seems that the power steering box where the bracket fits extremely tight might be the issue. As I tighten the bracket down it pushes into the steering box.

i have read, or at least I think I have. That power steering models sometimes need that driver side bumper bracket modified or tweaked

Maybe I did have these on the wrong side?

The part with the blue tape was butted up against the steering box

the one without tape was on the passenger side

Each one has these arrows etched in them which I assume means which side they go on, based on the "up" arrow
