1971 K/5 Blazer

Someday I’ll do something with this truck. To many projects going on. I have some lift springs for it. My plan is tear it all down rebuild axles and brakes and toss these 33” BFGs on. Also picked up some M1009 CUCV 15x8 wheels. 64A6F66A-D4D8-4B45-AA18-018FFFE91309.jpeg

Your posts are always interesting and cool.

What happened to the grey first gen blazer you had a while back?

Sold it to help finance the move to our new house. Regret that one

Soo thinking a good start will be body mounts and all new metal for the rear tub?

In my mind the body mounts are a good place to start. Get the tub all squared up and doors aligned before you start cutting structure out of it.
On the 72 Jimmy I had, I removed the homemade body lift and put poly body mounts on. All the original body mount shims were gone and I had no hard top....I had a helluva time getting the doors to open and close again.

Gravel roads and holes in the floor don’t mix well :dunno:

This line sums up my life thus far. In my solid axle swapped F150 if you didn’t put your foot over the hole rocks would pelt the back wall of the cab not.

Rusty broken u bolts removed. ORD u bolt top plates installed. Also threw in 1” zero rates that I had from another project.

Gave up on swapping tires constantly. Grabbed some new 33” BFG all terrains.

I've got a solid 65k on a set of those tires on my wife's awd yukon xl. Still got a 1/4" of tread left. gonna push them farther. Last set I had on an awd Grand Cherokee got 70k.

Did you have the hooks in your stash of parts I hope!? Rare to find for cheep.

These are repops from RustyK5. I did trade him a set of original extreme bends plus a good amount of cash for theses tho
