1971 K10 Custom/10 Tons\LSX

Anybody recall which conversion U-joints ill need for driveshafts?

Also I have to move both rear shock mounts on axle? Leave them in factory placement or on top of tube?
I haven't read this whole thread yet so I don't know if you found a U-Joint yet or not.

I just installed a Precision 348, can be had at O'Reillys or Napa for $25ish. It's a 1310/1350 conversion joint.

Thanks. From some my research I'm thinking that will be the right one.

Well before throwing the rear in back in I moved the zero rates to be set at 1" back to save some spines on the driveshaft.

Wheel is still pretty centered

Also pulled the carrier. Took all them spiders and tossed them away. Installed a mini spool in their place

Spent some time tonight removing some bolts, grease and all connecting wires. Seems the motor is separated from the bell. Ready to yank it out!

Gonna have this ready for Saturday? lol

Got my ORD braided brake lines today. Got them all. 8-10" lift front ones and the whole braided kit to go from my frame to my calipers in ther rear.

Since my 70 SWB gave me starter compliations I figured that should be my first project. Sure enough I should have known but the cast bellhousing used a bell mounted starter. The hydraulic bellhousing must use a block mounted starter??? @78SWB do you remember doing this on the 78???

Grabbed a block mounted starter from a 1987 V10. Bolted it up and cranked it over. Continued to button a few little things up.

Not a whole lot of exciting progress. Got my clutch master cylinder mounted up. Using CaptainFab brake booster and master bracket. Used the same setup on my C10. He makes a great kit for this that includes all the linkage to use your stock pedal. I'll snap a pic of linkage once I get it all set up.

Unrelated news. Got another project. Picked up a 1951 3100 pickup for my dad. It's kind of a bought not built project but we have plenty of fun work to do to it still!!!

I'll have to remember that bracket. I've got parts for a '72 that need to be turned into a truck someday and I will want hydroboost and hydro clutch.
