Meangreen1 submitted a new Build:

1972 2WD Blazer LS build

hello all,

My project:
72 Blazer
Plans:
LS3 with 500/600 RWHP
TR6060 6sp trans
Restore on interior with modern Suburban seats, stock on everything else.
Do a frame off resto.
Two tone paint job.

Possible plans:
9" rear. Gears TBD

I have done several build threads but this one I would like to document the most because of the lack of LS swaps in detail. Hopefully it will inspire others to follow suit.

Bringing the Blazer home.

2015 LS3 that I bought today. Should be here in a week or so.

Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks. I just picked up another project 72 SWB. The 68 clip may just make its way on the Blazer.

5th gen Camaro drive train in a 1st Gen 2wd Blazer, this is going to be a badass build! I had a '12 Camaro and the LS3/TR6060 combo is like a wet dream.

How many miles on the LS3? What engine mods are you doing to it?

The motor has 15k on it. The guy smashed the rear and totaled it. I plan on doing a cam, intake, Valve train, headers. Looking at builds online this should be good for over 500WHP. My LS2 Chevelle had 438WHP with more mods than what I will do with the Blazer.

That's going to be an awesome cruiser, I can honestly say that's the only first gen 2wd I've ever seen..

LMAO, look at it sitting in the background.. It looks like it's smiling because it knows that heinous engine is going to be powering it soon! Super cool truck man!

What are you planning to run for wheels?

Had a couple of minutes and wanted to see how the Camaro SS pan fits.

So far it looks good. What have people used for brackets and mounts? For my Chevelle I used Dirty Dingo sliding mounts.

So does it fit in there with the a/c compressor and alternator in between the frame?

The AC compressor is the main one that I have always heard is the biggest clearance issue.

Loving this build already. Any plans for suspension? Lower, stock, etc?
