1972 2WD Blazer LS build

I thought it was an egg shap that stuck out from the center. Now that I look closer I think they look fine!

So I will give you guys an update. Had a little set back with the cam. Pulled the stocker and found lifter damage. Now I am going through the motor and replacing things. $500 I didn't want to replace but it adds up to replacing stock parts
New high flow oil pump
LS9 head gaskets
LS7 lifters and trays
Head bolt kit

I also got the wiring back from Modern Vintage. I am so happy with the result. I also bought an upgraded k5 harness from American. They went ahead and removed the wires I don't need and made a plug for it to hook right up to the LS3 ECM. It will be so clean and easy. Fuel pump power, ecm ground, and fan relay is all I need to connect. Highly recommend!!! If you want pics of the harness let me know.

Back up for an update.

After going through the engine it was now time to get working on mock up.

After trying 3 sets of headers I finally found something that worked. I used a Trailblazer SS ones and they fit perfectly.

Next I looked at the trans situation. The TR6060 is a big one to fit. I wanted the engine as far back to the firewall as possible. It poses challenges with trans fitting.

Here's the shifter adapter. It's made by Core Shifters. Nice unit.

As for the trans cover I will be looking for some some to trade with. It's a factory 4sp and I would hate having to cover that hole knowing someone most likely would have one to trade. Needs to be patched but it's easy. You can see the pen mark where the shifter hole needs to be.

That trans is a big upgrade from a t56.. interesting that it seems quite a lot longer. Wouldn't have guessed it would present itself as having issues fitting in a truck!

It's because I moved the engine so far back. I want to keep the weight towards the middle.

Anything new going on with this build?

Hopefully this build isn't dead. I did my own harness but I'd like to see pics of the 2 harnesses fitting together. It would be interesting to see how it compares to mine.

He'll probably come back in with an update one day. Some guys don't frequent every day but can't help but come back around.

Come back, need update on this! Hopefully its near complete at this point, been over 2.5yrs since last update. I can dream though.
