1972 OLBLUE Blazer

This may or may not be my longest, most extensive build
Had some issues with the left bedside. They were AMD ordered from Jegs back when there were $640 in May 23. Now a few months later they are $930 each. I think we all know who we can thank for that….. :thinking:Anyways the left would even bolt on, the supports were welded in the wrong place. Right side slid on like a glove. So I called AMD. They don’t care one bit “They come from an outside supplier”……Taiwan. Finally get ahold of a nice lady at Jegs and she says send it back. I’ll send ya new one. Easy as that! Jegs may be my new go too. I’ve always been a Summit Racing customer.

All that leads to me patiently waiting for my other bedside. Cleaned up the dash some, polished it, polished and greased the column, new dash pad, painted pedals, heater box cleaned, old brake booster removed. Next is to finish up the booster mount and hydraulic setup for the sm465. This is a kit I’ve used many times from CaptainFab on the 67-72 forum. IMG_9782.jpegIMG_9781.jpeg

Got another bedside. It’s the same if not worse. Guess I’ll cut it up and make it work

I think I had to open up one set of holes in mine when I was putting it together. Pretty sure it was the driver's side. Other than that everything lined up well.

Fairly certain that no matter where or who you buy from, all the parts are coming out of the same factory. All of my sheet metal came from GmcPauls and was good quality for being aftermarket. I'd like to think they have better quality control for the slightly higher price you pay, but the bigger stuff has been drop shipped from the supplier.

It just looks so good on the wheels I haven’t touched it in a few weeks…..

Small progress, hydraulic pedal and brake booster all set up. Have pictures but I guess the new iPhone is to fancy for CK5. I’ll have to edit the size and try again

Bump.

You still working on this thing?
Been the slowest winter project ever….. no I haven’t done anything

Next step is building the door hinges. Then I’d like to send it up to Elliot to fit the doors and rockers so kind of waiting on him.

Seats are going to the upholstery shop in a couple weeks. Slipped on cover on. Need more love than me just hog ringing them on. I’ll do the rear myself

Got the rear seat cover on. Need to paint the legs and arms, then dye the armrests. Probably going to dye the rear belts and buy new black buckles

Fronts still need to go to the upholstery shop

Couldn’t resist a little mock up hung the fenders. I’ll probably hang the radiator support and align the fenders before I finish the rest of the tub
