1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
I hope you buy a broflo and it doesn't work. :rotfl:

I absolutely love the LS in my truck, one of the best decisions I have done. I drove a 89tbi 454 for awhile that had tuning and work done to it, although it was a great engine it's probably the same comparison to a 350 to my 6.0

It's always a crap shoot with used parts but I've tried to keep things on the cheap with this truck.
I'm also daily driving mine so the priorities are different.

I'm still thinking about EFI down the road for my C10. Especially after driving it in the cold pre-dawn morning today.

I love LS engines. My 2000 Silverado is so fun to drive everyday. But now that I am doing the 8.1 swap, there is something special feeling about a big block. You can like them both.

And then there's my 6.5...lol love/hate

I have done the daily thing with my '70 K10 before and had it do just fine down into the mid teens in temperatures. Had it out in single digits before, but not sitting outside all night. But it has always had a Q-jet!
:D

I just can't refrain from poking the bear... :haha:

Scott is just mad at the PF4...

It was just being reluctant to move very fast first thing this morning. It was 25F when I got to work, so it was pretty chilly out. I do wish I could be one of the BroFlo buddies, especially since I can't get @6872xtc to come sniff my pipes.

Part of me wants to put a D44 under the front and use it as is, keep it pretty OE and unmolested.

3 years later I've came to the conclusion that I still prefer trucks with a front axle. The goal with Sancho is to keep it stockish with a small lift, 35" tires, crossover steering, 1/2 ton axles with a 350/sm465/np205 drivetrain. That could change to a big block if I run across one for a decent price.

I've been buying parts for the last 6 weeks in effort to build a roller that I can swap the cab and bed onto.

Picked up a mid 70's K10 longbed frame.

stripped a bunch of stuff off the frame for blast/paint or parts I won't need. After this pic was taken I also stripped the rear spring hangers and the shackle hangers for a flip kit and FUSH.

next score was a SM465/NP205 with the pedals and linkage from a 78 SWB K10

no idea why this was blue but it was ugly as fck so I stripped it and ran it through the blast cabinet.

blasted the OE clamshells and stuffed poly inserts in there. I also have poly transmission mounts sitting on the shelf.

bunch of parts blasted and painted in Satin Black.

Had this hitch flaying around so I figured I'll install it on Sancho.

also scored these old school western turbine's in 15x10's. They need to be refinished and I haven't decided what to do yet but I'm pretty stoked I found these for the build.

While I like this plan, I am somewhat baffled at not enjoying a truck that is more nimble to drive, easier to get into, and could be faster as well. Easier to load stuff in and out of as well.

But, that's just my opinion, so carry on!

I have a variety of other cars and SUV's that are stock, lowered and a hell of a lot faster that fill that need. If it was a short bed it would've had a better chance staying 2wd but I'm pretty sure I would get bored with it.

Not everyone can handle the refined taste it takes to have a c10.:haha::whistle:

J/k.....

I'll see if I can drum up a case knob and only have to send one box...
