1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
I've had Sancho for 10 months and not one celebratory burnout has been demonstrated. Therefore after careful consideration I've decided against all the crazy cab swap ideas (for now anyway) and I'm trying to find a replacement trans.

Turns out this truck has a long tail th350 which was common in these trucks however it's been fairly uncommon to locate another one in usable condition. After looking at prices of rebuild kits I'm debating doing a rebuild myself rather than shelling out a bunch of cash on a rebuilt trans. I found a few tutorials videos online to watch, if my eyes don't cross I'll probably order a kit and see what happens :dunno:

Th350 has to be one of the easiest...

My trans guy can do one in about an hour...
I agree, I have done a couple of them and the first-ever was 2 days.
First day I took it apart laying parts in order, next day reassembling.
No tutorials or YouTube videos

Finished some other projects so I pulled sancho big ol ass into the garage. Removed the obnoxious and poorly fabricated exhaust system along with the transmission. It's definelty been out before, probably by the PO based on the cross threaded bolts in the crossmember and a missing motor mount bolt.

You guys are making me want a 2 wheel drive square to play with too.
I'll sell you my big block, crew cab, flat bed, man trans, dually 2x4. It's fun to drive with the big block and 2wd but tops out around 65-70 if you really wind it up. (no tach, just going by sound).

I'd dig it, maybe next year, if you still have it. I have been spending all my play money fixing the crew I already have.

Wow!

I gotta do exhaust in the eggplant too. Leaks horrible. I'm thinking about getting a prefab'd y-pipe and 3" pipe with my old magnaflow.

I'm all about recycling parts however having more than one square has increased my hoarding a little

quick rebuild eh?

Thank you for doing the body bushings...

Literally the first thing I did to mymine once I had it running.

I can't stand a saggy cab truck...

the cab wasn't lining up right with the bed and once I got under it I could see why, they're smoked.

Damn, quick transmission service. Did you just swap a used one for an already rebuilt trans?

Do you plan to lower the suspension at all?
