1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
Damn, quick transmission service. Did you just swap a used one for an already rebuilt trans?

Do you plan to lower the suspension at all?

Yes, swapped it out for a rebuilt through a friend of friend that does transmissions (35+ years experience). After pricing it all out I was only going to save $150-200 doing it myself and I obviously wouldn't have any type of warranty. This one also has a transgo shift kit installed with a few other upgrades that I wouldn't have done so I think I'm better off.

Definitely getting lowered, I'll probably notch the frame when I pull the bed off for the K5 tank conversion.

But actually was saying cool to the prospect of it getting bagged. Dropped C10s look nice

For budget sake I'm leaning toward a simple drop with spindles and springs up front with a flip kit, shackles and a C notch in the rear. There's a company just south of me that makes a decent kit that I've been eyeballing.

Can you find a short box for a decent price out your way?

Just thinking, If you are doing all that work anyway to the back half of the truck...I would want it to be a short box.

The thought has crossed my mind, I would much rather have a short box.

I'm hoping to drop mine with just a flip kit in the rear and no c notch or dropped spindles. Really just going for a more level stance.

I'm want to go lower, like 6" in the rear.

I was going to mention that too...Ive been threatening to cut down both our 77`s for a while now. :haha:

it's actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. Just have to remove 14" of frame between the cab and the front of the rear hanger and lop of 6" from the back. I was just telling the wife the other night that I'm itching to burn some metal :saweet:

some pics I found on another forum.
