1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
I'd imagine that the leak would have to be into the crankcase and not just between the two cylinders...

I know the 5 and 7 intakes ports are operating from different sides of the dual plane, but most intakes and carb bases connect the two halves anyway...

Pull the PCV out of the valve cover and check for vacuum? I don't know, seems like a intake gasket failure that is only between 5 and 7 and ok everywhere else wouldn't cause that much of an issue...

Could be wrong...

I don't have excessive crank case pressure, I did check that. I'm still leaning toward a worn cam/lifter, I'm going to try and get a dial indicator on it tonight and see where that leads me.

Spent about 30 minutes looking at sancho tonight before the rain blew in. Pulled the valve cover and didn’t find any rockers tightened down moreso than others. Also rotated the engine over by hand checking the push rod play, again nothing abnormal there. Did a quick cold compression test on 1, 3, 5 & 7 and they all came in at 120 +/- 1psi.

I’m going to swap out the wires for shits and grins, that’s the only ignition component I have not replaced since they looked newish.

Get a chance to throw the vac gage on it?

He's been working on the wheeler and going wheeling, no time for this one

Pretty much this ^

Transmission is leaking again, quite a bit actually and I haven’t had time to look at it. Still runs like shit, again haven’t had time to look at it. So it sits on the side of the house with a battery tender on it.

Cool project. Love the color and the name, lol.

Th350?
