To me, engineered and designed are the same basic thing. But they don't answer the question of where they are manufactured?

If you guessed they are Made in Ching Chang China, like everything else.....You'd be right. I was a bit disappointed when I saw China on the Mevotech box but the part and packaging looked legit. Better than any AC Delco or Moog part I've seen in a long time. Time will tell if they are worth a poop or not :dunno:

Well @ZooMad75 seems to be the front axle abuser, guess he will find out first

Hehe, he doesn't have these. His has Napa Moogs that I put in when that axle was in my Burb. These Mevotechs went into a K5 I'm building for myself. See Stout Mutt in the build section

Thought about that. Didn't wanna argue about aftermarket FI and DIY tuning though...
:haha:

Things can be made in China but still have good quality. It's all about their design and engineering and then following that up with quality control.

One of the big LED suppliers for signs had an issue a few years back with power supply failures. If we got a service call for an LED sign that wasn't lighting, we'd bet it was a Sloan power supply failure and 4 out of 5 times it was. Anyway, they fixed the problem by hiring their own onsite QA guy to keep on site at their factory in China.

weekend progress update

front axle is 95% assembled and ball joints are torqued. Still need to install the lockouts, diff cover and fill it.

I've been debating whether or not I should rearrange my garage a little bit so I can keep my Challenger in the space with the rolling chassis. After some measuring and more rain on the way this week I decided to shuffle some shit around.

Once the frame was moved into the garage we decided to hang the front axle. Turns out the front shackle bolts need to be 5.5" long rather than the 5" I bought so I need to buy some of those. The U-bolts and U-bolt plates I picked up from Ruffstuff on Saturday.

The rear 12 bolt was stripped down, cleaned, wire brushed, cover blasted and painted. Also verified the 4.10 gearing and painted the new drums. I still need to install all the brake hardware, cylinders, cover and buy new brake lines for the axle.

The SM465 and NP205 were stripped and cleaned. I'm really surprised how clean they are and I'm thinking about spraying them a similar dark machine gray color.

thats pretty damn close to what’s on there now. I’ll look for that, Thanks.
I just kinda stumbled on it. I prefer duplicolor and my parts store had it sitting there. I was doing a warn transformer mount and it just didn't look right in gloss black.

MAINLY ON WHEELS!!

:D
That's a fair complaint. Luckily I see the black wheel trend tapering off. Lots of guys in their 30-40s still think they are cool on the 201x truck, that don't remember that they rolled centerline's in highschool.

Personally I think you should paint the t case that dull red, like fact-tree
