1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
Rims and tires are at the shop. Won’t have lug nuts for a few more days unfortunately. The missing brake parts should be here today and tomorrow so I can button up the rear axle.

With my tentative work schedule for the next four weeks I see no reason why I shouldn’t pull the clip so I can yank the engine, transmission, exhaust, K5 tank and some other miscellaneous parts I need to get the chassis finished.

I should probably work with you on a plan for my projects.
Looks like you have the time and I don't.
Want to do a build on my suburban :pimp:

Find a rat motor yet?

looks can be deceiving! :rotfl: I’m juggling work tasks with my office phone and laptop setup in the garage.

negative although I’ve been keeping my eyes open because I know some people will be getting desperate with the lack of work. A L29 is really the only engine I would drop cash on right on and it would need to be a good deal.

When I dropped off the tires and wheels to get mounted the kid helping me thought those tires were big.

so I uncovered the K10 and took it back to the tire shop when they were done. :D

When I was not looking for one, I found a couple at pick n pull.

Over the past few days I’ve been able to cross a few more things off the list.

Rear brakes are done and the 69 K10 emergency brake cables worked perfect. I had to steal some parts from the 5 lug rear axle under sancho to complete the brakes like the plungers, spreader spring and the e-brake lever. Also chased the wheel studs on the rear axle with a die.

Tie rod was cut to length, welded, painted and I installed a couple of ORD’s Kevlar dust boots on the TRE’s

hard brake lines are ran with exception of the two lines off the master cylinder and I’m still waiting on the lines for the rear axle to show up. Also need to source/buy the 3 flexible extended lines.

3/8 hardline has been ran for the fuel supply.

crossmember is painted and installed along with the two other crossmembers that run between the two rear cab mounts.

lug nuts and center caps showed up so I put a couple wheels on for motivation.

As soon as this weather clears up we’ll pull the hood, front clip and engine/trans from the C10. The engine could use a cleaning, some new seals and some fresh orange paint.
