1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
So a late 70s head swap? Must’ve been desperate

that’s kinda what I’m assuming at this point. Need to look at the heads closer to see what they are. Also noticed the freeze plugs on the back of the block have been replaced.

Yeah that’s probably the clue. Earlier heads crack easy on freezing, but nothing else. I’m sure this heads are the generic open chamber 1.94s that everyone throws away

Better yet would be 1.72 for fuel mileage and torque. :doah:

I’m trying to keep this simple but I have some other heads in the shop from the corvette.

Man, we are going to have almost twin rigs! Your color looks almost exactly like mine, crazy that GM would offer 2 different colors that close in the same year. Just looked back at a couple of your first pics of it and my door panels are even weathered exactly the same as yours lol.

They’re going to be very similar for sure.

I always thought it was odd they had similar color options too. Don’t see too many of them anymore though.

Over the past couple weeks I’ve spent some time dealing with little things between working from home. Parts have been really slow with exception of ORD. I usually get summit parts next day however it’s been over a week recently.

quick rundown of progress:
ORD brake lines installed
Hard lines on rear axle received and installed
31 gallon fuel tank, sending unit and pump have been installed. Still waiting on fittings and 6an fuel line from summit.
I also slid the trans/t-case into place along with the skid plate.

I don't have the patience. Or a place to do a complete tear down. My builds are works in progress. I think that's why the bare frame idea interests me so much; it's not something I've done.

Picked up a 99 L29 last week from Tilden with a 140k on it removed from a fleet truck. It needs a fan, sensor and the harness to the transmission was cut. Otherwise it appears to be in good shape and Tilden told me it ran well.

Now I need to figure out what direction I want to go with it.
