1978 K5 LS/NV4500

Drove it around the block with a manual transmission and no seat!?
That would have been amusing to see!
:saweet:

I drove my '85 K20 to town and fixed some broken bolts, and then back home and put my new seat in. All without a seat in it. A Blazer would be tougher though, as there is no back cab wall to lean against.

Chris, don't flip this one.

I plan to keep and drive this one a while once it’s finished. Only reason I’d sell is because I’m so tired of only working on it all the time. It would be easier to tell you what doesn’t leak on it….. I hate leaks.

Did you scuff the floor for it to stick? I got the same stuff and haven't done it yet.... been sitting in the shed.

No I didn’t. It’s pretty dang sticky so as long as the surface is clean I don’t think you’d have an issue. It’s a little cold here so I’ve been using a heat gun (blow dryer ) to warm up the floor and sound deadening sheets before applying them.

Just went through this again for inspiration. What patch panels did you go with for the floor?

Just now seeing this. I used panels from AMD and they fit like shit. Not sure what else I would use though because all the aftermarket panels from other companies look the exact same. Lots of tweaking to make them work.

Got a little work done today. Nice to finally see carpet in it. Cut the holes for the shifters as well. Still need to mount the trans boot but I wanted to see what it looked like.

Also did the @CK5 208/241 shifter flip mod where you flip it 180 degrees so it’s not laying down. I like it.

For anyone wondering.

Are you going to modify the boots at all or leave them overlapping like that?
