Just an question, but did You use the alignment tool for that? Or at least take the pan down some and let the crank center the seal?
When I did mine I didn't know that stuff, and just figured I'd ask.

I just slid it into place and tightened the bolts that go through the oil pan first then the rest of them. Silicone in the bottom corners. Sounds like people have had good luck doing it that way with the cover replacement. Guess I’ll find out.

Just for future. The way I found researching mine, was loosen the pan if it's on so that it hangs a bit, push the cover/seal on, then tighten the perimeter bolts. Then the pan ones last.
That way the, seal has even pressure all the way around the crank and you lock it in there.

Too many beers:doah:
That was almost a repeat of my last post :haha:
May be time for bed lol

Yep you’re right. That is how I did the front cover and it doesn’t have any leaks. I just didn’t want to break the seal on the oil pan. I probably should have done it that way again. Maybe I’ll get lucky.

I was just concerned being the rear lol. That one's hard to get to later.

Boring update:

After some research and looking at pictures. I think my cam position sensor might be the main culprit of my oil leak. You can see oil that has run down from the opening where it is right above the rear plate but still under the bell housing. Oil all over and I had oil in the bell housing bolt holes. Probably should’ve realized this before hand but oh well. Didn’t know this was a thing but it makes sense after seeing where it was always wet. Maybe both were leaking. Hopefully I can get to it without pulling the intake.

Pulled the cam position sensor out and definitely looks like it was leaking a lot. Replaced it with a new one. Also put new spark plugs in. No pics of that.

Everything all buttoned back up. Noticed the oil cooler block off still leaking so I ordered a new one from ICT Billet that has a rubber o ring instead of a metal gasket that doesn’t seal.

I should clean the frame sometime.

Got some more interior parts in. Ended up canceling my order from USA1 Industries. Do not recommend them. Ordered from LMC. Got everything I ordered already. Still need some more things. Hopefully get the door panels on this week. Have to put the shifter bezels and door sill plates back on still.
