gas can on roof with gravity feed hose to carb? So close to home and I bet it's getting hot there already.

Pinching the hose could have damaged it?

Seems like a bad year for fuel systems. Extra hot this time which is never good for gas.

Sounds like it was either a plugged filter or that pinched fuel line was causing problems.

Don't know that he's home but should be there or close now.

They're home

There's a long list of things to fix or work for him now but at least he made it home.

The pinch in the fuel line will in fact cause some of these issues. Replacing everything like Jack Brandon suggested and the Dueling fix should make some headway.

Good news is you know what to fix/upgrade for next year. And yes, it will be better.
My first Moab experience was not unlike yours, broken parts, trailer flats, malfeasance galore. I learned a lot, made some changes, and enjoyed many a subsequent trip to the land of the red sand.

This is now your build thread, keep us posted!

Hey EPK5,

I have a new in box mech fuel pump, its yours free if you need it. PM me the address and I'll send it.

Super glad to hear you made it home man! I think we were all worried about you. That was definitely a rough trip for you - but like others said, fix her up and come back, you'll have a great time for sure!

Guys I did in fact make it home. I replaced all of the line from the pump to the carburetor. Instant fix. I also replaced the filter. This is indeed my build thread. I am actively searching for axles and may go back to the guy in Moab that I got the emergency axle from. I plan on installing the ORD, DIY and TnA catalog where the parts don't overlap. I have a year. I have made decisions on everything but the powerplant. I am trying to decide on either a tbi motor or ls. I have heard compelling arguments from both sides.

Cool. You should probably change the thread name (unless you're changing the name of the truck to "Well this sucks," in which case it makes good sense) so others know you're gonna be doing cool stuff in the future.

And a move to the garage would be good, too.

Glad to hear you made it back safely.

Dammit G, I had a used AND brand new pump at the BBQ free to a good home. Oh well. Glad you're home. Hope the rain didn't hit you.

Glad to hear you made it home. I too had some breakage my first year at BB also, but not to the scale of yours :eek1:

I know some easy moderate trails in the Las Cruces and Caballo Lake area that could be shakedown runs as/once you get your truck rebuilt. There is a great shop in Truth or Consequences, NM that can do fabrication, axles, transmissions, doublers, and such.

I'm only a few hours up the Rio Grande from you. Give a shout if you would like to go wheeling.

Fellers,

Long time no post. Would someone be willing to tell me how to change the name of this thread as well as move it to the garage? I have some updates to post and a I would like to put it in the proper forum.

Bob

Update: Name change successful, now to move this to its new home @mrk5

Here is a status update on the K5

I have acquired a NP208 to replace the 203, Duane won't have to crawl under the truck to figure out the puzzle box.

I have located a 14 bolt still looking for a front alternative. I'm considering rebuilding the dana 44 front to 3/4 ton spec but ideally I'd like to go with a D60.

Those of you who saw the ghost winch at blazer bash, I have acquired a real live winch.

I have acquired a full set of humvee wheels and tires (BFG Bajas) that will do until I can get the tires I really want.

I finally replaced the hood that I removed and lost on the way back from Moab.

If any of you would be willing to part with a one ton from axle, I'd be more than willing to travel to buy it, assuming I can get it at a decent price.
