Yes, correct on the bolt pattern. 99 is a split year. I've never seen a D50 in anything newer, and I sell a set or 2 a week. But regardless, that one is a D60. But the price is way too high.

Besides the info I found on 4wheeler, what identifies it as a 60? The outers are supposedly the same between the 50 and 60, the axle tubes and brackets have to be nearly identical if not identical so that only leaves the pumpkin as the identifier when your looking at a picture? In person I suppose that there is a stamping that tells you?
I really don't have any good knowledge of the newer axle stuff and figure this will at least make a searchable thing in this thread.

And I stand by my statement that if this is what's available where he's at and this is the going price there it isn't too expensive. I pay 1.95 per gallon for diesel right now, you pay near 1.50 or less for the same thing, does that make my diesel too expensive and therefore I shouldn't buy it, or is it just a product of where I live and my local micro economy?

Also take a pic of the pumpkin, sorta a top view showing the pinion area. The 50 has a pretty decent recess in the casting, where the 60 is fatter/beefier.

As for price, I'm just saying, LKQ has regional pricing we follow. LKQ El Paso is in my region and I can see their pricing. Unless someone jacks the price on him if he were to go in there, there should be a significant difference in price.

Well, regardless of the price, dude backed out. He claimed he didn't really want to sell because he wanted them for himself. It would have been easier if he had said that from the jump.

I'm considering boat siding, dovetailing the rear and narrowing the front. What do you, the esteemed forum mates have to say regarding these modifications?

We'll watch if you post pictures.

Pulled the motor for a few upgrades and a reseal. If you were anywhere near my K5 during blazer bash you might have noticed it leaks like an excited puppy.

Make sure you pick one that will work with TBI unless you plan to do aftermarket FI.

Or be prepared to do chip programming. Several options there as well

Yeah I have heard that before about chip burning. Some much more reputable than others. I have only had 2 burned (same programmer) so my knowledge on that is limited. Both my engines started out as carbureted, with other mods done prior to injection

Running the friendly cam is a sure bet

If you need more power than what that does, it's kinda a foregone conclusion that you are spending more money somewhere
