It's actually the last major missing parts of my drivetrain. Needed a converter that would hold 474hp and a flex plate.

I went back and forth with the converter thing alot in my head. Even thought about contracting a custom built one. Those get pricey pretty quickly though.
So I finally went with a hughes HD. 2500 stall. Probably will actually stall around 2100, 2200, depending on what size tires eventually make it back on this thing.

I am picky about my converters and most likely I will be unhappy with this thing, but this is a t350/t400 converter and plans include a 4l80E down the road so I figured I would try this one, get some miles on it and figure out what I like and don't like and once the 80 comes into the picture, I'll have a better idea what the engine likes, I like and what I need to do from there.
 
Uh ya and at that afr it's still rich so you should pickup more once you get it 12ish range at wot.. damn that is stout as hell.. that torque curve is gonna boil tires.. just don't sneeze in the drive through.. you might give someone a heart attack!
 
It might be, but that's where its building the most power, we made a pull at 40 and it lost power. So 38 it is.

That pull there was also with a 850DP
Afr will be better with the fuel injection. I think we made 14 pulls that day. Need to find the rest of my dyno sheets....
 
No worries, with electronic timing it'll make more torque down low anyway.. this is the motor I want in my blazer.. dammit..

Ah, I would do a few thing different if I did it again. Better heads, more cam.... different EFI....
That's just me though.
 
I agree, torque cannot be beat.. except with boost.. you can beat it then..

With my ADD it's hard to say how long I will stay dedicated to one thing.
Actually boosting this thing with about 6-8psi wouldn't be so bad. It would Easily push this up past 6 double zero.
 
Problem is that would be at the limits of the fast ez EFI... so that's an upgrade then..
Might as well go with multi port while doing it....

I am planning on that... my wife rode in this truck one time. Way back when. She's 5'-2" and didn't care for it. She has chosen the 76 to her liking.
Since she probably won't ride in it much I am going to make it LOUD, as it should be.
Going to let all of those 474 puppies bark.
Going to try some hooker aerochambers but most likely they will be too quiet.
 
Black widow mufflers is who I am using.. you might not like them because there on the raspy side of the spectrum but have loud but no drone covered..
