1979 K30 Pile of Hillbilly Crap.

haha roger that. I figured out where The Shop Inc was the other day.. it was a sunday and I thought for some reason olsten's would be open so I could look for a new bumper corner for the jeebus.. and lo, there it was.

Well here we are at spring. I have acquired lot of parts for this and I need to get rolling on it.

For the front I still need to finish the high steer and the hydro assist.

For the engine I have to install the tunnel ram and fix the oil pressure sender (unless it doesn't have any pressure).

I guess I now have a winch so I guess I need to figure out how to mount it. Going to try the hidden style but I am not sure it will work with a M12000.

I have a better cab so I need to some help and get it installed and fix a/c so I can crawl in comfort. Actually will be using this for spot spraying a little this spring.

The only picture I thought to snap.

I have been slowly working toward putting hydraulic assist on my truck. I just switched from front steer to high steer and now have been trying to decide how to mount the ram to the tie rod. Instead of welding ears to the tie rod or to a clamp I had one of the finest local machinist build this for me.

You will have to ask him. I paid him what I thought was no where near enough and he was happy. I know for the price he could sell dozens but without cnc it isn't very much an hour.

It was kind of a one-off thing that I made with some scrap material I had. I intended to just give it to Johnny in exchange for some parts, but he wouldn't take no for an answer.

Maybe someday I'll blow do a small run on a CNC mill, but this one was done manually.

How much work would it be to do something like that? Was that a school project, or just something you made for ****s and giggles?

Did you ever pick up that pipe from ITP?

Martin

Thanks dudes! It was just for ****s and gigs since John is always so willing to help me out with stuff. If I was going to do a run, the biggest issue would be that I would actually have to buy a big bar of 2.25x2.25 which I don't have the money for. As far as CNC machining them goes, it would be easy enough, but I'm not very experienced yet so it would take me a few tries to figure out the most efficient way, as far as a run would be concerned.

I did pick up that pipe chunk, for some reason I had it in my head that the thing was like an inch in diameter- It's a bit bigger than that! Anyway I'll get some measurements and then I'll get it to you somehow.. then when I have time I can figure out how to make a two piece one.

Any and all farmer solutions (as I call them... John knows) are welcome, as I am generally known for making everything far too complicated!

All I am saying is sometime the fastest path between two points is a straight line.

I think thats always the case, but you're the one with more kollidge than me.. In any case- Straight lines, while simple, aren't very elegant; and since you know how I like my "turny" stuff......

Pizza cutter front tires? FUHGEDDABOUDIT. lol.
