1979 K30 Pile of Hillbilly Crap.

I got the beadlocks on. Thinking about 5.38s, ordered a kent moore tool kit for a dana 60. Also thinking about the tunnel ram again. We will see.

I have a few from the bead lock mounting. First one sucked, not too bad by the end. Glad I had an electric impact.

Finished the 5.38s this weekend. More or less moved me up one gear on the 4 speed. No longer need to use 1st to start and 4th no longer acts like an overdrive. Now I am thinking about exhaust. My headers are horrible and I want to go to a shorty or manifold and y it under the oil pan and down the driver side with a single 3" muffler. Seriously considering manifolds which makes me wonder if I am getting old. Just want quieter and a nice rumble. Now it is headers that get holes rubbed in them by shackles and drive shafts.

Headers are over rated.

Oh, and take some pictures you ass hole.

Get some of those speedway or whoever makes them big outlet manifolds. For most applications I prefer manifolds. And I'm young.

They don't make them for man engines. They only make them for future Honda metal and future circle track power plants.

Appears I am wrong but I hate speedway far to much to give bills kids 500 for a chunk of recycled Chevy impala.

Well new manifolds are over 200 I guess I will patch my headers and ponder it. May still get Shorty's.

For the love of sweet baby Jesus, when are you putting the tunnel ram on???

I am approx 33 days from being someone's dad so I have been trying to complete a few projects I have been setting aside since I fear time will be a hot commodity later. Engine is back in my camaro and after I get the nitrous plumbed it will be getting dynoed with hopefully at least enough gain for high nines. The poor neglected k30 is getting the traction bar mount repaired and some much needed maintenance in the way of repairing the front transfer case seal, lubing the front double cardan, tightening a lot of loose bolts, repairing the steering box bolts to repair the ever loosening bolts, new transfer case mounts and new totally naked front engine mounts. I tend to forget how hard I use this truck. The driver side engine clam she'll had one bolt remaining and the passenger side only 2 of the 3. The engine pan had been setting on the ord cross member and has induced some nice shallow dents across the bottom. Now it has a hand width across the bottom and hopefully much stronger mounting. Now to find the draw and figure out something with the rear springs to level it out with my poor sagging tuff country hd fronts that seem to have lost a inch or 2. Then weld on the traction bar and grease the piss out of everything and check/change the lubricants in hoped of wheeling some time this fall.

Yep, still in the works. Just need time and possibly more prodding with extra hands to help.
