so what u guys think?

I like the new grill better.
Start buying parts! Even 1 at a time is better than nothing...Unless your
trying to save on shipping...either way get busy :p: ;)

what parts are you waiting on? what kind of shape are the kingpin bushings and bearings in? they are cheap and easy to replace if you can reuse the kingpin.

Love the new grill Rich! Looks awesome. You going to paint it? I painted mine the original silver/gray and it came out great.

i do not know how to check the kingpins im still new to D60 stuff, care to explain? and i wont have the srw hub for another 2 weeks, the hub has new bearings, etc. i need to replace the seals, and the universal joint on the shaft was loose on one side, so its gonna be replaced, oh and need to get warn locking hub, spring plate, u bolt, rotors. but its all in 2 weeks, then should be under the truck 2nd week of june. and wait for crossover stuff.. im hoping to wheel the truck in late july, aug. AM hoping on it. if not then defentiily in the fall, spring and all next summer!

yes am gonna repaint it to original silver/gray color. and im loving the older look.

pull the caps off the kingpins. it should pretty much be self explanatory from there. usually the plastic cone is wiped out.

so you are getting a spare d60??

havent been to the junkyard. but yes.

well i got the other D60 home, didnt take pic yet, no new old truck there. so wasnt at the junkyard long, plus im glad i wasnt there long due to im sick. the axle is at my dads now.
EDIT, the other 60 i got was free.
update for my 80 gmc, i started to take the d44 apart so i can pull it out, and put in the D60 while its still light. no other updates.

got the d44 axle out, and put the d60 in. the entire job took me less than 30 mins. reason it took me so long to swap it around, is my jack took a crap on me, so i had to borrow my dads. now the axle is sitting under the truck with jack stands holding it up. waitin for u bolt and spring plates this week hopefully. heres the pics.
d44 ready to come out

those are the new rustfree doors? nice new shocks too. its coming along nicely and hopefully you can have it driving by the end of this week

Is it just me or does your truck seem to get more and more colors every time you post new pictures?

Read this thread if you are going to replace the kingpins. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230686
If you do it the way I did it it isn't hard at all.
The worst part is finding a way to torque them to 500-600 ft-lbs. I used a 3/4" drive socket and breaker bar with a piece of pipe to tighten mine.

This is a good write up on how to rebuild the kingpins.

I had to use the Ford kingpin seals on mine because the Chevy seals weren't big enough to seal it up. The Ford seals are taller.

I reused my kingpin and replaced everything else. a kingpin would have to be really pitted in order for me to deal with swapping it. I would rather just replace the cone washer every so often. they are cheap and easy.

got the SRW hub, brake bracket to run 1/2-3/4 ton calipers on a D60, thanks muddybuddy (james)
