1981 K20

6" lift. 3/4 ton axles.
I've had that same box on the back of my truck for years. It's held up great!

Yup. I actually had the same box before. Was in my dodge in between stacks for two years. Then In the back of a k5. Sold it when I bailed on the k5. Now I got another one. I'm not worried bout it holding up at all.

so in reference to the thread title of ordering a plenty.
here are the parts currently in order.

BlueTorch Fab-
14BSF cover. one of the only places I found making a cover that fits a lesser 14 bolt

DIY4x-
dana 60 flatback cover with a drain plug and mounts for the hydro assist ram.
2 of the fire extuingisher quick attaches made for a flat surface. will probably do one in the cab and one in the bed. might end up doing both on each side of the cab and just leaving the bed mounted in the toolbox. we'll see
spare tire mount plate. just a plate cut out to a 8x6.5 pattern so I can make the tire mount that will put it in the location of the picture above.

ORD-
full PSC hydro assist kit
competition bumpstops front and rear
greasable fush kit with shackles
zero rates front and rear
new ubolts and u bolt plates for the rear axle
bolt on steering brace, to keep my frame from developing any cracks. between that and hydro I didn't feel like a weld on was needed.

after all these parts are in & installed. pretty sure i'm done building for a while.

the only other things that will be on my plans
-full gauges from JJ.
-going to go with a TBI kit from AFI. going that route because I want the controller for an OD trans
-to go along with above, a 4l80e running off the tbi ecm. will use either the 205 that I have, or a 241, what ever I find at the time that makes it a simple install. may even end up doing a 241/205, we will see.

but before all that, I have a lot of wheeling to make up for in the month of june.

You'll be happy with that kit from AFI. I'm sure you read my thread and how happy I was with the whole deal. Two of the guys I wheel with have injection kits from two other major aftermarket EFI companies and I have to say they both still have issues. I have no doubt their kits would support a lot more power and are obviously more adjustable but my little TBI 350 just chuggs along no matter what elevation or orientation the truck is in.

Oh yeah I definitely read your thread on it. I could go more expensive like a fast or EZEfi, but I want to be able to control the 4l80 at same time and for $1200 for the whole kit I think that's a hard setup to beat. Especially since my mill is just a standard gm crate engine. Nothing fancy to see here I just want good start up and driveability with out having to worry bout stalling out on angles or off cambers

just adding this in.
got these today. a pair of flood pods.
going to go into the bumper sides that match the winch cradle. so for now they'll sit. unless I test them to see the light output later on.

Didn't 93 and newer 3/4s come with the 4l80? could you use a harness and ecm off one of them?

Pretty sure 91 2500 subs came that way too. would end up with a factory style harness.

Purdy parts you've been getting too!

Sweet. I can't wait to get mine

Probably. But what I'm gonna do is just grab the AFI tbi kit that has a trans controller built in. Essentially if I was good at wiring I could accomplish the same thing by pilfering a donor rig. But as that's more than I can understand ill just spring for the kit that has everything laid out.

Steve, you can always whore your parts. Doesn't matter if we have seen em a million times.

Now get that stuff mounted!!!

Oh don't worry. I will.

And
Oh don't worry I will. Gonna start the removal process tomoro. I do have to wait on the steering box brace til Wednesday before I pop the box up.
And have a few days yet before my front diff cover with ram mount shows up.
