1981 K20

6" lift. 3/4 ton axles.
so in looking thru my photobucket for some pictures of the front shocks, I started looking at all my cool pictures and really missing this truck.

sent my buddy a text saying I needed it back in my life.

just so happens that last week he got it smogged which means he has 90 days to sell it in California before he has to resmog it so he had been toying with selling it.

I said that smog don't compute here in Nebraska so that doesn't matter.
so it looks like i'll be buying it back here in a few months, and shipping it out.
i'll deal with all that nonsense when the time comes.

since he bought it the only thing he's done is replace the water pump.

now early plans will be
either a LS swap or efi conversion and add an overdrive trans
sell off the 40's and go to a more street friendly 37ish tire combo. either on a 17 or a beadlock will work.

and pretty much enjoy it and wheel it and drive it and go from there.
I'm excited like a little school girl to get it back.

Dude im so happy to hear that.

It really broke my heart when you had to sell it off for so damn cheap after all you put into it.

Stoked for you buddy :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

The plan also sounds perfect to me.

Me too. Even my wife is excited to have it back. Said its our baby lol.

Plus since he is a good friend he's gonna sell it back for the same price instead of bumping it up a decent amount. So that definitely helps.

I was kind of surprised when you sold it.

Martin

It wasn't a choice thing. From the day we got fired to the day we moved back to Nebraska was less than two weeks. The truck selling paid for the move. It was a fire sale. But I told him at the time that if he ever sold it I'd be the first in line to buy it. Makes me laugh though cuz he wants to run a few more trails in it before he builds up his jeep so it's probably gonna get a fuel cell, new sliders and a locker before I get it. I just told him to make sure he doesn't fall in love with it cuz I'm taking it.

If you don't want to hassle with shipping, a buddy from Fairbury has a decent rig for sale for $3,500.

Thanks. Can't wait to go again. The most "wheeling" I've done in the past year was out at steins place just driving thru the field.

Well we ended up using the money I had saved for it as a down payment on a house. I'm buying two tickets to Vegas this week and then starting back over over on saving up for the truck. Won't accumulate as quickly as it was before since now we have w mortgage but I plan on having it here by end of year.
