1981 k5-thats all she wrote :(

Ive got all new looming In the garage. It's not fireproof but it should work I bet. I still wanna finish running all my new wires first.

Fireproof just means that you have to re-run your wires... :doah:

I would do split-loom.
It's soooo much easier.

And, keep it real.... If the engine bay catches fire....

yeah i already had an underhood fire bcuz of the stupid battery cable. not trying to do that again. (although i am happy i demanded on having 2 fire extinguishers! ha, take that wife! )

i'm just working on removing as much non necessary wiring and cleaning up whats there. in the next year or so i'll probably rewire it with a new harness, but for now. it appears to be able to hold out.

it looks like i may be getting my drw hubs turned down soon, so after i get the trans installed i think its time to get the 60 going finally.

So with my th350 in the truck. The cooler lines were never hooked up to radiator. It was janky rigged to a small external cooler. I was thinking about getting some stock type
Lines such as these http://m.summitracing.com/parts/RSD-TTC8504
And running it back to the stock ports in the radiator. Which way would cool better? I could always plug the radiator and stick with external. Or use the stock setup and keep that cooler for when I do hydro assist.
What say you guys?

Thats fairly cheap for those lines. I replaced mine with rubber trans line. It just made it that much easier to route out of the way. I think I paid like 30 for the amount of rubber hose I bought. You can always do the press lock like zim did.

Feels faster already.

Need to get the tranny temp gauge and get the switch panel mounted to the dash. But I'm digging it

Ever put hours of blood sweat an tears into something. Only to realize it isn't going to work

Anyways. Such is the case with my dash setup. To move forward I removed the dash pad an I'm going to make a new setup.

After that tho I got the exhaust finished. Not great but should hold it over for atleast a few trips.

Well it's still terding me so far. Went to hook em up an somewhere in my little wiring setup something were Amiss. So I pulled it all an I'm working on re wiring. It's a pain in the scrot. I hate wiring.

Well this morning we have success. Redid all the wiring while eating some panda yesterday. The only thing not hooked up is the trans temp and speedo. Both of which are waiting for the doubler/th400 to get finished an installed. No sense doing em up for a temporary situation.

So. Took it for a short little drive this am. Discovered a few setbacks.

1. The Fans aren't staying on. I think I blew the fuse in that circuit. Easy enough to fix.
Fixed that. The connector just fell out of the fuse block.

2. The line from my fuel cell to the filter. Developed a small leak at one of the AN connections. Should be an easy fix.
Fixed that too. Just had to reseat one of the fittings.

3. Small leak at the drop T for the rear brake fluid.
Tightened the fitting we will see how that goes.

4. Trans wouldn't shift outta first. Figured that our that it was just super low on fluid.
5. Small exhaust leak at the header 3 bolt flange.
Gonna have to fix that.
6. Fuel level gauge isn't working. Hope the sender that came in the fuel cell is good.

Yup.
That's what the fuel cell should have installed. Is there any way to test the sending unit to make sure it's working
