Swap the wires on the sending unit.

Tried it. Still no works. Does the exact same nothing on either setting.

Tried to drive it again today. Tranny is proper ****ed.
Will move in first gear fine. Won't shift on its own. I have to let off the throttle for it to shift. And then when it's in second it barely transfers any power. Like barely keeping at speed and I can hear whirring/revving happening when I apply throttle. So I think I'm going to have to sack up and swap in the th400.

The final version of the gauge setup.

What is the gauge doing when you hook it up?

I tried that today. I'm getting a reading of like 2-3 ohms. So I guess the tank is really just that empty according to the sender. Dump another couple gallons in and see what happens

sounds right, put like 5-10 gallons in it.

but whats sad is its only a 22 gallon tank. and its got between 6-8 gallons in it?
two 5 gallons can full plus a few minutes of driving around the block. i guess i would expect it to read atleast something off the E peg.

but i'm not worried about it enough to stress right now. once i swap the trans out and it can roll then i'll see what happens when its on level ground and i can fill it up.

it's sounding more and more like the gauge is bad. I'll send you a new one.

really?
i'm leaning more and more toward the fuel sender in the fuel cell being bad?

not really sure how these things work but it seems like it should read higher?

i'll recheck the ground for the sender too. its up under the truck and maybe not clean enough. the only thing that gives me hope is the reading at the fuel cell and the reading at the gauge is damn close so atleast its not the wiring.

Well the less gas in the tank, the lower the Ohm rating coming from the fuel sensor will be. Say if your tank is completely full it should read between 89-92 Ohm's. And empty is should be 0-1.

Either way. Let me know.

ok thats kinda what i thought. i'll check the ground. and we'll just sit on it for a lil bit.

Got some little **** done today.

Did a new ground for the fuel sender. (difnt help. )
Hopefully fixed my exhaust leak.
Got my exhaust moved up so it doesn't kiss the front driveshaft.
Drained my old transfer case so I can get the 350 ready to come out.
Got my driveshaft out. Also reminded me to run a tap thru the yoke for the ujoint strap bolts. Did that -much better.
Really hope to get cracking on this trans swap cuz its all that's really holding me up at this point.

Th350 is now down on the floor. Th400 is going up on Sunday.
Tore apart my np241. Avery needs the 27 spline and he's gonna give me the 32 that he has. Worked great for me plus a Chance to dig inside and see how these things work.

32 spline input swapped in. Thanks avery!
Maybe I should make the cut for the doubler right now?? Nah better wait

Np241 put back together.

Ready to get it In then get it on!

Had a rough week or two. Trying to get back into things in the blazer.
I'm hoping to get the trans in soon. My buddy that usually helps me is in the process of moving so thats kinda in hold. I've also figured out how I'm going to do my front springs. I still haven't figured out how I'm gonna put my ford towers on and clear my steering shaft. Gonna work in that. Maybe I can get everything welded up soon.

I did hook up a lil fuse block thingy cuz I figured out the way it was was blowing my wiring. So I got all the misc switches on the dash setup to where they run up to the new dash/switch panel I made.

GOT the th400 up into the blazer. Used a cherry picker but it was a tad too short to reach thru into the floorboard hole. So I used a hitch I have and put a few welds on it to extend out the picker.

Worked out peachy. So right now the tranny is bolted to the engine and to the crossmember holding up its own weight. I'll try and finish the install over this week.

Why didn't you drill a 5/8" pin hole through the stinger instead of weld the hitch in place?
