Dumbest thing I've read in this entire thread.

Yeah I think you should keep them as long as you have the space to store them. You never know when you'll have to take something out and then you'll be looking around for the same items again. Plus you might could use them make some money on the side or help your buddies out. My philosophy is that if I have something that's paid for, I'm probably going to try to keep it as long as it's usable.

A nickel's worth of free advice :haha:

Thanks for the degree finding.

As far as keeping the 3 items, I would love to but don't have the room unfortunately.

Find a friend who will keep them for you.

YOU...MUST...KEEP...THE...ITEMS!!!!!!!! at all costs!!!!!!!!!!

:haha::haha:

Bought the trans jack on the way home, also went looking for a poly trans mount. The store manager at Autozone said lets take a look at this one, it says rubber in the description... She comes back and opens the box, says ohhh it's all metal. :doah:

Looks like all I can find is a rubber mount, it looks like this.

Anybody know where I can get one? To be vehicle specific its a 91 burb k10 700r4/np241 mount.

Think I found it.

Yeah that's it. I recommend poly too. It lasts longer. Plus you have poly engine mounts so you're okay there. You'll just feel the drivetrain moving around a bit more when you get on and off the gas. I got my mounts from Off Road Design but they're prolly the same ones you linked to.

Did you end up paying $85 for the jack? I had a 25% off coupon. As far as space, it folds down flat enough to stow under your bed.

You're going to like that jack. It does better for transmission work because it goes straight up and down instead of moving around on you as you jack it up like a floor jack does. Plus it has the big cradle with the ditch in the middle and the strap to keep the tranny in position.

I honestly don't know how much it was, I just swiped the card and said what ever.

I got enough stuff in my room. :doah:

Time to get rid of the pile of dirty clothes and the stack of Hot Rod mags and make room for tools! Yeah!

It's not the clothes or magazines, it's all the truck parts. :haha: Seriously, it looks like LMC and Summit racing blew up in my room.

Ok so 2 inches was a streeeeeeeetch.

First I managed to dig out the tranny and transfer case. My back today thanks you.

4l60/np241, Was pleased to see these go together with no effort. I pulled tcase back off and started going in.

Does this look correct? I don't remember how the cross member mounts on the frame.

With the tranny at a 0 degrees of a angle, the engine was dead nuts at 6 back. :woot:

Next I decided for the quest for 2 inches. Turns out I don't need that much, everyone said 2 inches was a TON.

This is with no cranking of the cherry picker yet. With going up one inch everything clears a ton more.

I might have to do a slight notch on the drivers side rail. The passenger side was coming really close to the pinch weld on the fire wall. But this is without new cab bushings so I would assume the 31 year old bushings would be sagging.

looks like you need to spin the crossmember 180*...the drop part of the transfer case goes with the drop in the crossmember...like so...

Fat. Guy is right. The t-case isn't going to go on that way. Unless you're using one with a drivers side drop, which I don't think you are.

My advice about the t-case is don't try to use a jack. It weighs less than 100 lbs., so I just sit on my creeper, pick the case up and lie down on the creeper, roll up under the truck and just bench press the case into place. It will just hang on the trans by itself while you rotate it up and start a bolt to hold it. If you try to strap it to your jack, it will fall off because on side is heavier than the other.

I built a cool little stand that sits on that jack. The TC bolts to the stand. works really nice.:woot:I am old and don't like to lift anything.

But Ben would need to learn to weld.

Makes sense didn't think about that drop portion. As far as the tcase, that is what I planned on doing. Just needed that piece of mind it would bolt up on the trans.

That's a better idea actually, but it's probably easier to for now just to lift it into place. Haha. I sometimes use my legs and feet to help me get the case into place.

Don't try this with an iron t-case like a 205 or 203 though. Unless you're He Man.
