Pictures never do wheeling justice. When people ask, I say, go see it or go with us.

Ben finally went, did see him shooting some pictures and video.

Sooooooo, does this mean you have given up on BB14?

Nope going either way, going to try my best to bring the truck.

You're wanting to stick with the 10 bolts, so don't get too crazy.

And where's all the pics from KOH?

I'm going to keep the 10bolt front but half looking for a sf 14 bolt rear.

I took a couple pics but mostly video... I should get those uploaded.

I will say this regarding any kind of axle swap. If you are re-gearing or changing diffs, do yourself a favor and get an axle that you won't out grow. If the 10 bolt works with its current ratio, then wait to break it.

Also, I looked into this briefly, but have not fully vetted it. Sounds like some of the jeep and yota crowds think they can get axles of similar strengths by adding higher dollar shafts, etc. If that is true (at least partially) you could end up paying about the same to modify your 10 bolt or a Dana 44 as buying and reworking a 60 but have a smaller lighter unit.

I think you're going to be fine as long as you don't go too crazy. People end up with broken axles when they put a big load on them by getting on the gas when the wheels want to stop, like when they're up against a rock or ledge, or when they're spinning fast and suddenly stop. Big tires and big power just make it happen quicker.

I agree only time it will see heavy throttle like that is on the street and wide open desert and then I'm limited by suspension and in 2wd mostly.

That friend of a friend deal on the heads turned out to be $1000 dollars, 200 less then his last set.:haha:

Pretty much what I thought, going to call around tomorrow and see what pricing is like but I don't think they are getting done.

I'm scared of a home done port and polish.

Run it as is. More than enough ponies. You were in mine. It's only 200hp. And I was the only one out duning in our group.

That is what I'm thinking, but If I can get it done for a few hundred I might be tempted.

I'm hoping I can get the frame brackets for the ORD 4 link next week so I can get started on it. Did you push your axle forward Wade? I'm thinking with the max of 35's on this truck centered in the wheel wells is the best bet.

Leave the engine alone.

You can always mess around with it after you have it together if you really think it's not enough power (it will be).

Build it, get it running and don't mess with the stuff you can and will change after you have it up and drivable.

I agree with you guys which is why I figured if it is a couple hundred bucks then I'll do it. I have the engine torn down enough that all I have to do is pull the head bolts off and they are ready. I also have to account for new head bolts and gaskets to get it done also.

I feel like I'm slacking lately, but I need to button up the oil pan on the Exterra and then get back to this. I'm waiting on parts, but this weekend I should be done.

I think it was Monday the brackets were next on the waiting list so hopefully next week they get delivered.
