No? Confused on this? Trying to utilize my time tomorrow and be fully productive. I'm not going to final weld the suspension so I want to get everything made so the welder can come over for a day and be done instead of multiple trips.

Another thing I can do is weld washers to the frame to make a gap so it slides passed the dimples.

Im going to, but I need to order parts I figured I could use my time wisely and get other stuff in the mean time done while I'm waiting.

It's steel. It's only ever a torch or sawzall away and a few seconds from being removable, and only a welder away from being re installed....
 
Yes I have seen that I have a bolt on warn I bought for 20 dollars but it's for the 90's trucks. Was going to cut it up.
 
How far can you safely space the bung out of the links? Could I get away with 3/8ths of a inch? Trying to get the axle a little more forward. When at ride height and full bump the axle moves a inch back.

Does the pan hard and drag link have to be perfectly In line or can you have a offset?
 
They can be offset as long as they don't bind moving that inch back as it travels. My self personally, I would be OK spacing the bungs 3/8". Not sure if advisable? But I would personally do it.
 
Trying to get this axle pushed forward as far as I can with the links already cut. Every little will help.

Not getting a lot done today, going to see if I can get the welder guy over son before he moves to Washington. I may have to pay a little once he moves but the majority of it will all be done.

If you'll remember, this is why you were advised to NOT try and center the tire in the wheel well. And to have it a bit forward would be better. Not surethere is much you ccan do about it now short of getting new tube to make longer links. Unless you can get enough safe adjustment out of them.

It's pretty crazy his moves that much on. 5". Craig's moves that with with 14" of bump travel :whistle:
 
I was under the impression to center the axle. Don't quote me on this but I think I was advised to by ORD?:confused:

Just went and got a bottle of gas and stopped off by another local shop today. Really cool place, and they want to check out the mall crawler when it's done. :pimp:
 
I suppose if you have never had a lifted square with big tires you wouldn't just naturally come to the realization that **** needs moved forward.
 
Ok so I have this great idea now... by moving the frame bracket back another 5 inches or so I can get the links longer and more friendly. To get 2 inch .250 wall tubing It would cost 95 dollars.


Moving this back to the rear bolts and drilling new holes.

Never mind the crap tastic weld to the left. I should rename this project to pissing money away.:haha:
